You should seriously installed in your room at the place of your Encon. You cannot say you don't have a place to install it. Even though its smaller than your Encon I'm sure your gonna get much more air movement than with the Encon hugger. Jean, I completely agree with you - install it in my room, stick a light kit on it, and I'd be ready to go (air movement would be amazing compared to the Encon! ). I really want to install it in my room, but my Dad will not allow me to install a 30 year old fan.

You REALLY NEED a light kit on it? You don't have any table lamps? I have 3 table lamps in my room so I DON'T need to have a fulgy light kit on my bedroom ceiling fan. Anyway I don't like to have light coming from the ceiling in a bedroom, give an unpleasant, cold and too bright light.

I suppose he worries about electrical problems with old electrical appliances; especially considering how much I use my Encon. I wouldn't have to put a light on it (in fact I agree that would be ugly ), I could just haul up a few lamps. I plan on figuring out a way to run it on the floor (like my Crest and Yuson) upside down so I can see how it runs. I may have to build something out of wood to hold it up and support the motor to keep it from falling. I'll keep you guys updated on that project.

It's no problem Rick, I had the same limitations of installing fans for a very long time, but just because my parents didn't want me to mess with the electric. Not everyone can just do what they want in their parents' home. I kinda like Blenders with lights, if you want one go for it, Jean doesn't need to make your decisions.

If I ever get one I want to see what a spotlight kit looks like on it.

My parents just don't want me messing with the electric, so that's why I can't install the Blender. I was thinking of putting my TOC's light kit on it, possibly: [a href=" "] [/a] That might look cool! I agree with Jean in the sense that a modern light kit (like a bowl or something) would look ugly on a Blenderfan, but a classic light kit on a classic fan seem to go well together.

Yeah, you should have heard all the crap I got when I first hung my Hunter Summer Breeze in the basement, dad was not happy at all. Now look at it down there, five fans and the main source of light is the fans. ;D
That's not a bad choice for a light, I'm intrigued to see that actually. I always seem to see them with schoolhouse globes, and I rather like that.

Good news! This weekend, I'm going to wire up the Heat Fan! Since I am unable to install it, I am going to build some kind of little holder out of wood, to hold the motor up upside down (like I did with my Crest and Yuson). I'll get you guys a video as soon as possible!

Let me know how the ball and socket system works on it, Rick!
Also, I plan to convert my newly acquired PB Emerson Casablanca Designer to ball/socket.

I finally wired the Heat Fan up last weekend! I built a wooden box for the fan to sit on (downrod is inside, secured) so I can run it. Pictures: [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] Pictures of it running ;D : [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] And of course, here is the video as promised : [a href=" "][/a]

Cool! You wouldn't happen to have any vids of your Crest 2000, would you? Unfortunately, my Crest went into storage before I joined here, but I do have a few narrationless videos I took before packing it up. The fan is on low in both videos, by the way : [a href=" "][/a] [a href=" "][/a] Interestingly, the light kit ONLY works properly when the fan is on low speed. This is because this fan only has one wire going in and one going out. The light is on the same circuit as the fan. The light draws too much current when the fan is on high or medium. The light does not work at all when the fan is off. However, if the light is off, the fan works properly on all speeds. Anyway, enjoy the videos, Tim! ;D

Since I run my Encon so much, he worries about electrical problems with real old fans running all the time. But you're right; it is much better quality than my Encon.
