My god I'm up to 11 fans already! Its the first time I get two fans the same day. I don't want to go over 20 that would be too much fans. Saturday I went over Philippe's house and we did our trade. I gave him the brown 9'' Super desk fan I picked at Entraide Mericer and he gave me one of his two white 36'' spinner. I know the motor and brackets are just too Four Seasons Venair but by the sticker they would be some Nadair. Yeah 80s Nadair are RARE! That would make my unknown PB Chunky GE Vent 48'' fan a Nadair too as the sticker is pretty much the same too. About those spinners, even if they looks late 80s the motor is pretty big and thick, much bigger in person than it looks on the pic, its just the switch housing that have a normal thickness. There Made in Taiwan not China. It need some work before I install it as the plain side of the blades got repainted in tan and it left some stains on the stencil side. I also need to replace the light kit pull chain. I already flipped the brackets as they were installed upside down. On the same way I also got the Casablanca Four Seasons 48'' IT that was not too far from Philippe's house. Precisely the finish is classic white & bright brass. (Classic white=ivory) Those are mid 80s or late 80s? When I opened the housing the to dusted the inside of the housing I saw 6-87 printed on the motor. So it would be a 1987? Its 100% complete! The ONLY thing I found missing so far is ONE of the four long screws to screw to canopy hatch but anyway my Panama included two extra ones so I'm OK. ;D Its in very good condition too, the flywheel looks very sturdy. The only thing I truly hate about the Casablanca Four Seasons are those super short brackets. It looks silly, it looks like the fan is choked by its brackets. I said I did not wanted to remove my Panama unless I get a PB Zephyr SQ but I really want to try the Four Seasons and I don't think my dad will let me install this in the unfinished basement especially on a 24'' downrod even if its just for a really quick try. I would like to see it installed normally on a 8.5' ceiling on short downrod sooooo yes I'm gonna take my Panama down but c'mon a Casablanca for a Casablanca and a Four seasons is not too far from a Zephyr. Its actually its small brother. I was wondering if the 3'' downrod of my 2009 Panama will be compatible on my 1980s Four Seasons?? I noticed on the Four Seasons the way its made at the top where the downrod locks on the motor is different than my Panama. About the Inteli Touch control installation, one black wire goes alone to the black wire of the fan in the wall switch box and the other black wire of the IT goes to the other random black wires. Like a regular 3-speed wall control?

I dig your Four Seasons Jean! On the contrary, I like the short brackets, I think they're cute.

I personally like the Panama and wouldn't move it. But thats me, If you contact Casablanca you can get parts for them and they have the parts list on the repair site. They sent me a mounting bracket, pull chain, and something else I can't forget off the top of my head for my Delta II before Kelly got it all for free I didn't even pay shipping. Nha its just to try you know, I might not like it but I'm really eagerer to try especially because its IT. I always try every new fan I get its my own policy.

So I tested the Four Seasons with the 24'' downrod(yes on a 8.5' ceiling) as the downrod of my Panama would not come off(ahhh I screwed it too tight ;D ) in my bedroom today and just like I expected it it does not work. Ahhhhhh damm electronics...peoples will never understand. I emailed the person who sold it to me just to see if he his gonna dare to reply. I guess this video could help me a lot: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pWn2GM_9lIOr I might considered to converted it to pull chain. Or trade it for a working PB Zephyr SQ to one of you USA fan collector that appears to want it so much. I might not have wired it correctly but the light cammed on and the control beeped but the blades did not not move AT ALL and the light would not dim. The light would turn on and off with the fan button mostly and sometimes with the light button also so it was all messed up. I'm gonna retry it another day but this time in the unfinished basement where I will have better access to the wires if there a problem. Something weird I noticed is that there just one black wire, a white neutral, a green for ground but no blue for the light separated like we usually see on normal light kit adaptable pull chain fans. That's normal one black wire and no separated wire for the light kit on IT Casablanca? It would be so sad if the electronics were really be really messed up as the fan it self is in very good physical condition. I don't know why some say that 1981-1993 Hang-Tru canopies are recalled for not having a pin mine does have a lock pin in the ball. Don't worry the Panama is already back running nice and slow as I'm typing this. BTW I tried the ivory cane blades on my Panama and it did not looked so good. I'm not a fan of cane in general. I did not installed the Nadair yet but for the broken light kit pull chain this video could help me a lot: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWvhDcT1ByE&feature=related

Did you switch the control wires to make sure it didn't work that way?
That's correct about the light wire, there's no separate wire for the light since it's all controlled from the circuit board.
Also, did you read that you can take the LONG downrod off and use a standard 1/2" ball on the stub that the rod was on? That way you don't gotta cut anything, and you can mount it closer to the ceiling.

I see and understand what you mean Jean. I don't understand WHY electronics HAD to be installed in a ceiling fan. This goes for the retarded wattage limiters in today's fans. We don't need gov't reg!!

I personally love IT, despite its early faults. It's such a great system, and doesn't require the stupid extra wire that other controls for independent light and fan need. And all the features it has!
Also, I saw your thing about the recalled canopy Jean, you may not want to use the 1/2" ball idea then. If the canopy is a recalled one, a standard 1/2" ball is gonna really slip right through. It'll possibly hold until you turn the fan on, then CRASH, down comes the fan. I know this from experience...

I've been able to remove the thick 24'' downrod and inside it was a PB 2.5'' long 1/2'' downrod. I'm gonna hang it in the basement with a generic ball & socket. Cole in all the ceiling fan installation you have done, did you EVER had one of your fans crash down?!

Generic is very good in this case. I've come close multiple times. Most recently was my Zephyr. I'd forgotten it had a recalled canopy, and put a stub with 1/2" ball on to hang it downstairs. Well, I've almost got the fan together and I notice that the ball looks really low. I tug down on the motor a tiny bit and out she pops, so I immediately installed my canopy clip.

Update: I installed the white Nadair 36'' spinner from Philippe and I replaced the broken light kit pull chain. It works pretty good, it have a few vibrations sounds to it sometimes and a pretty cool speed up sound to it, moves a decent amound of air. The bearings are really good. The only thing left to do to it before I post a picture is taking off the tan paint  :yuck: of the stencil side of the blades and it will be prefect. Finally we have a overhead light in this utility/storage room and the light kit looks proportionated for the fan as it cammed with a 3¼'' fitter. I bought a plain white mushroom globe especially for it as I don't really like round globes so I told Philippe he could keep both of his round globes. Seeing a mushroom globe on a 36'' 4 blades spinner reminds me of the 1990s. I retest the Casablanca Four Seasons uninstall, no blades on my bed with a lamp replacement cord and I've been abel to fully dim the light with the LIGHT button but for the fan its still does not seems to work normally. The fan buttom only makes two beep tons and stops there. Those are supossed to have 6 speeds so I should hear 6 different beeps but I only hear two. The flywheel does not even move but I hear a hum in it, I push it and nothing happens. BUT when I press the FAN button really quickly and realease it automatically it have a louder hum so I pushed the flywheel and it STARTED SPINNING fast. I guess my bearings are badly froze. I'm afriad to oil the bearings as we don't have Zoom spout oiler in Canada, the only thing we have is the SAE 20 3-In-1 motor oil that sometimes can make certain bearings worst. But I'm gonna retry it installed in the basement with blades so see how it goes. The control does not seems to keep in memory very much when I hit the POWER button. When I return the power on the light always comes on at full brightness even if I let it off before pressing the power button. I also got an answer from the person who sold it to me and confirm me that it worked normally before he took it down. So if it replyed back is that he did not try to fooled me and he's honest. He also told me that there a special way to wire it that was different than the Saturn. He suggest me to ask an electrician. But does anyone knows what a VARISTOR is??
