After I went to meet Philippe A. in Laval I went to Boisbriand which is very close to Laval and pick this really nice late 1970s(?) Blue Super 12'' Desk fan. Its Philippe A. who found it for me on Kijiji. Philippe already have a very similar one so he let me take it. Philippe have the slightly older(supposedly mid 1970s) version of the one I got. The center on Philippe's is different and the grills are less safe. Mine have slightly safer grilles but you can still pass your fingers easily to reach the blades. Its the first used desk fan I pick like that and its also my first clear blue bladed desk fan. I always wanted one and never really had one. The tone of the blue on the blades is just so beautiful as blue is my favorite color. Beautiful royal blue. I don't know the exact date of it but I know theses mid 1970s-mid 1980s clear colored bladed desk fans are some of the best plastic desk fans ever made. From what Philippe told me mine should be from the late 1970s.
The only two issues with it is that its missing all the clips to hold the grill so its holding with wires and its missing the bottom aluminum panel under the speeds push buttons. From what I've seen theses are two common issues with theses.
Does anyone know where theses were manufactured? Japan, Taiwan or I even heard that theses early Super(uses Lasko parts) were Made in USA??!
Other than that its in very good shape, barley yellowed, blades are scratchless, still oscillate, the grill have a few spots of rust/tarnish but nothing too visible at all. The previous owners said that they did not use it much.
Because of the insane pitch of these blades they do run a little quieter than 1990s Supers. 1990s Supers are still pretty quiet but the 2000s ones are really much noisier.
I will probably make a video of it.
