Jimmy, did that light fixture ever have a cover over it? It looks like it did at one point. Try putting new bulbs in it. Maybe that would make it work? (It looks like one bulb is missing.) Very cool light, I don't know the manufacturer though. Maybe from the 1970's? Neat light!!!

Looks like it should have a cover, a "V" shape perhaps.... The ballast is probably bad, and the sockets may need cleaning, also those electronical parts that are mounted on the side, (Forgot the name of those) they could possibly be bad, and those can be replaced as well... It takes nothing to get old fluorescent fixtures to work again.. Looks to from the 50s...

Yup, sure can, it's either the ballast or the starters, or even more simple as the sockets could be dirty

Oh it has the shades, just like the ones in school.. I remember when going into my old high school before tearing it down. Walking into the smaller rooms those covers were on the ground all bent up, while the fixture on the ceiling was stripped with the ballast and bulbs taken out..

Yes, those kinds of covers are very cool looking! You should put that cover on the light, Jimmy. ;D Old fluorescent lights are so cool... One time I saw a 1950's shoplight with 4 bulbs in one fixture! Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures...
