I picked up this Room Essentials 4 inch fan (Lakewood HV4 knock-off) earlier today. It is pretty quiet and moves equally as much air as my HV4 does. Here's a few pics : I know it's a cheapy, but it gets the job done.

While I was at my grandpas house cleaning it up, I found a few Cool-Breezes- and none of them worked well. One was found in a bedroom. It was turquoise and when I turned it on, the blades were hitting the front grille making a horrible sound. I took it apart (in the house) and couldn't fix it. Apparently it had been dropped or it fell off a table. I found two other Cool-Breezes as well. A black one that had a burnt motor and a yellow one that worked not very well at all. I left them in the house..they weren't really worth keeping IMO. I found my grandmothers Patton tower fan. It barely worked well either. The oscillation motor was shot, and the fan didn't move much air at all. I left it there too. Then there were two other fans I have mentioned already here on the forums. A late 80s Galaxy table fan (16") three speed that was airing out the decomp smell in the living room, and a late 70s Century two speed box cabinet fan with plastic blades. Made a lot of noise, and didn't move much air. It too was airing out the house. So, of all the fans in the house, I left them all there. They were not worth keeping...and I figured my Uncle might do something with them later on anyways. He's collected fans for YEARS.

I've got a blue Cool Breeze identical to yours, not bad little fans. I also have a similar one in black, but it's Tatung.

I made up my mind, and asked my Aunt (who stayed behind to finish up things) to grab ALL the fans in the house, and mail em' to me. They're done going through the house, the landlord has the rest of the year to clean it up (my grandparents lived in this rental house for 27 years )..so I wanted the fans out of there before they gave up the house for cleanup. If I get them soon before college, I'll get pictures in, but videos will be a ways off.

I do too. I dug through my closet in my house and found a visor (like you wear on your head) and it had a fan on it. Well..sort of. The fan was gone..don't know where the blades are..but the motor head and the battery compartment though are still there. It looks like this: www.imhimports.com/fanhat/fanhatvisor.jpg

I still have a more modern one with foam blades, so it's not as cool.

I think mine was used by a friend of mine, who let his little brother play around with it- and that's when I noticed the blades were missing. I never really liked the thing- it buzzed, it was front end heavy and it gave me a headache.
As for the Galaxy fan, I'm wanting to clean it up BIG TIME for what it was doing the last few weeks. My grandparents always left it running 24/7 during the summer. During the winter my grandpa would tighten a cover over the grille..and when it needed to be used again he oiled it and cleaned it up. So I imagine it probably needs a little oiling at this point, but the smell it has likely absorbed though...yuck. It'll need to be taken apart. But as far as I know, the fan rattles a little (which is a nostalgic sound IMO), and pushes tons of air. The oscillation though is a bit shaky...I don't know if my grandpa periodically greased that up. All I know is the fan is in far better quality than my TOZAI..which is collecting dust in my closet...
