so does your dad like it to be installed in the kitchen? Probably not, though it would look pefect in our early 80's style kitchen. I think I'll put it in the guest bedroom to avoid warping the blades from the humidity of the kitchen.

As for my other recent ebay purchases: #1) I got a NIB white Craftmade CXL with 56" blades rather than 52 inch. I think I'll use the 56" blades on my 90s Emerson Estate series since it came with no 56" blades and shove a set of 52" blades on the CXL. I may possibly sell it to my uncle to hang in my cousin's room. #2) I just won a bid for 4 SMC? Emperor blades and blade arms. They will go on my Evergo Emperor when I get them since it's original blade arms got whacked out #3) My next bid will possibly be on a new Craftmade TCS remote unit for my Presidential I since the unit that came with it doesn't seem to work on it anymore. (However, it worked on my PB flywheel Litex from 1991, when last used) After all that, I think I'll purchase one of those black/chrome NIB NuTone 'Elegance' models.

Cool fan Cole!
I saw your video on You tube and left a comment.
Is the switch housing and canopy made of plastic? And what kind of mounting does it use? The canopy remind me of a cheaper Hang Tru canopy.

The switch housing is metal, the canopy is plastic. It's got the double claw mounting, so now I have two of those brackets. ;D
It's already been placed safely back in the box to avoid any unnecessary "accidents" as it hung so low in the basement.

How did you get that switch housing off the shaft? I've never seen one taken off, at least one that wasn't broken off.

You're not supposed to do that. It's much harder to get it back on tight. Casablanca recommends you leave the switch housing attached to the shaft, and remove the shaft from the top of the motor. This way is a lot more reliable.
The one on the left has the older, slightly more reliable SQ.
Jon, I'll be interested to see how you fix the SQ. If anyone can do it . . .

You're not supposed to do that. It's much harder to get it back on tight. Casablanca recommends you leave the switch housing attached to the shaft, and remove the shaft from the top of the motor. This way is a lot more reliable. I am going to refinish that switch housing I removed it to make refinishing easier. The one on the left has the older, slightly more reliable SQ. I think that the broken one is older. they only difference between the 2 boards is that the big resisters are wire wound ceramic on the left as opposed to carbon on right and the disk capacitor is 10K on the left vs 8k on the right . Jon, I'll be interested to see how you fix the SQ. If anyone can do it . . . I will put a new trasister on the heat sink and repalse the resistors and disk capacitor as well as a few burnt connector pins. Note further discussion of these moters should take place in my fan restoration thred.

The blue board is older.
Let us know if the SQ rebuild works.
