Find one of those folding 'A-frame' ladders, perhaps? I thought about that but I could not find one that could be tall enough to reach the fans.

We always haul my dad's big A-frames on an SUV. Could see a minivan working okay, anything much smaller and I see the issues developing lol. I of course would prefer you got them honestly, but if there's no number obviously posted, there doesn't seem to be much interest in maintaining the integrity of the building (just look at the damage and graffiti lol). That's not the only graffiti. They are so pretty impressive ones outside. In all the structures, this garage is the one is the best condition. Some structures are dangerous to get close of.

Hope you can get those fans, Jean. Personally, I'd try to talk to one of those workers if you see them again.

If you can go inside the building without issue, I'd grab the fans without calling anyone. Do it during daylight and if anyone sees you, act like you were hired to do it.

Boy o boy.. Reminds me that time I went into that abandoned bowling alley and got those Emerson Universals.. I just happened to be driving by and saw that a board was removed from the back of the bowling alley, turned back around went back to my friends house and borrowed some tools.. It was one of those now or never things.. Went inside and they were waiting for me along with a big 12" tall A-Frame ladder...
This is a catch 22 situation here.. If you do it illegally perhaps you would look like a worker by putting on a hard hat and go about you business and not look like you're nervous.. But those ceilings look to be very high.. It may cause tooo much attention hauling a huge ladder around.. If you did, I would put the ladder somewhere against the building, drive the vehicle and park it else where and walk back to the site..

I can get inside the garage very easily but transporting such a long ladder is a problem. To be able to do this I would need the help of someone that have a bigger vehicle.

More unusual sightings mostly from the Plateau Mont-Royal again. Some of you probably remember in late 2008 and early 2009 I posted some pictures about six unknown late 1990s Indian (?) fans at my nearest Rona hardware store. Theses six fans are still there. Yesterday I saw two more of theses in a small convenience store in Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough of Montréal. I was surprised to see them but that proves that they were sold here for a short time. They some of the only Indian fans I've seen in Quebec. At first I thought my Rona store made a special order for them from a small Indian company but this convenience store is located far from my local Rona store and has nothing to do with a Rona. Here's one of the two: It's the exact same thing as the ones at my local Rona. Here are again the pictures of the others ones I posted in 2008 and 2009. In this thread I have four pictures each showing a different fan throughout the store. I remember that the ones in this store were installed in 1999 or around that year. ada19851985.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=id&action=display&thread=2915&page=1Something else very interesting. Three orbit fans in a bar in Plateau Mont-Royal borough. They are Hatari 40 cm recent models. Another one taken from far: It's only the second time that I see some orbit fans anywhere in Canada. Hatari is a Thai fan company. This particular model still shows in their site: www.hatari.co.th/products/install_fan.htmlI did not saw the controls for them. I was not sure if I should post theses in the portable or the ceiling fan section. I consider them portable fans. They are built just like a portable fan except that they go on the ceiling and they have a wall control a little bit the same way a ceiling fan do. I posted them in both sections. I thought they would be interesting to be seen by ceiling fan folks too. What about you? Do you consider them ceiling fans or portable fans? I remember seeing a lot of orbit fans in Chad. Mostly some old Evernal models with green metal blades.

The unknown commercial fan I posted last December (page 25 of this thread) that the canopy is in the ceiling, well I think I know what it could be. I saw five more of theses in a Dollar Store yesterday. I remember seeing one of theses on Kijiji. Check it out: The four others were spinning, this one was off. It's really the same thing as the one on page 25 isn't it? The rivets on the blades are placed the same way, it got the same slim classic spinner motor shape and the nice wide curved blades. With this upper canopy, I think it might be a commercial type of fan that was sold by Nadair in the 1990's. In the 2000's they also had a commercial fan with a ball and socket canopy too that was similar to a cheap CMC.

That certainly looks pretty close. Would look nice with a bell canopy, already has nice appeal with those wide blades.

that fan looks a lot like SMC from the 90s before 1998.. I guess it is most probably a relabelled SMC industrial

The canopy is really not SMC though. Have you ever seen the Indian fan I post at the top of this page? Maybe you have an idea of what it could be?
