In town we had a gibsons and the sold ceilingfans, iv'e asked a family friend who worked there in 1978 what kind they sold but he didn't know. In 1985 alco came in and put gibsons out of business and they sold tatung,encon,&heritage.Wal-mart took out alco in 1998. Has anyone herd of these places or were these texas and new mexico stores only?

I've never heard of them, but it's cool that Alco sold Tatung when the other ones they sold were Encon and Heritage

Heritage is complete and total CRAP! Compare that to a fan with a stack motor and real metal and wood, and you've got youself a piece of cardboard!

I wish Wal mart can just stop making those ugly looking ceiling fans when they had Laskos or SMC S they were better also having the old Original Blades. And the old Original blades create more air than the skinny blades this year. Everytime i see the cheap ones in wal mart, they look fake. I wish Heritage and Aloha breeze can just go out of business. But nope!!!! cause in my Area they still make them cause the most greatest fans in History are Hunters or Casablancas or SMC s and the old industrials like Evergo, Nutone, Goden electric, Econ, Dayton or Lasko s or Blenders. And now i like the Hunter Originals since i seen so many types in this forum.

This is the first I've heard of Hunter starting to make the Original blades skinnier (except for the Archive blades). Anyone got photographic proof?

This is the first I've heard of Hunter starting to make the Original blades skinnier (except for the Archive blades). Anyone got photographic proof? OMG no according to picture of recent Originals Classic I've seen they are still as WIDE as the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s ones. But yeah the Archives are pretty skinny. The blades use on the Original 42'' are also a little skinnier that the 52'' but still no that much. But its totally normal for a smaller fan to have skinnier blades that its large scale version. Just take for example the Craftmade Decorative 42'' and 52''. Also a lot of spinner like Commanders.
