Sounds like a white/brass(?) 52" R&M original.

I too would need a picture to help, I'm not good with serial/model numbers. But I have to agree with Andrew, the combinations sound like an R&M Original.

R&M 2 speed Original. Needs oil. Worth $75-150 on eBay. Great fan! Very heavy, be careful hanging it.

Ah, so it was an Original. That is a very nice fan.

White and polished brass ones are not too common. I highly suggest to convert it to a 3-speed instead of having just 2-speed. And apparently the ''low'' speed on these is not a low speed at all but a medium speed because it spins at about 130RPM on that speed so... But I'm not sure maybe some of the 2-speed ones had a real low speed.

No, they were all "high" and "medium". But adding a true low is complicated if you're not used to working on fans.

I still don't get how a high and medium can exist without a low. If it's a 2 speed fan, there's no medium, only a high and low, even though the low is equivalent to another fan's medium.
