The Fasco Great Room I just bought makes a noise on high only. It sounds like vrum, vrum, vrum, vrum, vrum. It isn't really a humming, but more like a vibrating. I've tightened all the screws though and held the rotor down to a stop and I can still hear a slight noise from the motor inside. It only does it on high though. Medium and low have no noise.

Are you testing it without blades?

Most motors make noise with brackets attached and no blades. See if it is quiet with blades.

i agree with dan, it was ment to have the blades on it, most motors will make some kind of noise running without blades....

It was NIB. I remember one with cane also sold in that range. But they're becoming more common recently so prices are going down.

I never knew that vintage fans were worth so much!
Obviously they are to people like us, but wow.. $500. That's awesome.

I've paid as much as $400, but I doubt I will again. I spent much more on clothes.

The most I spent for a fan was $564.00. On the Panama. Well worth it, I think. I don't think that I've paid more than $60 for a pair of shoes, and the most I've paid for a t-shirt was $25. I need to buy a suit one day though, because prom's coming up.

I know that the place where the junior prom is has fans. The senior prom is at the Aquaturf, which in the chapel, has two GE vent variable speed fans and a bell canopy.
