Idk if any of you are from NJ or where they Rickels were, but when I was little I loved that store. They had some hunters and this other brand labeled Essential Home Classics, I wondered if anyone had any information

Essential Home Classics sounds familiar, although I've never heard of Rickels.

Im from Union and Somerset County I remeber Rickels, and Channel's, Hell I can even rember circa 94-95, When Hunter made the Brekshire manner that was very similar to the 1912 Mission. it was sold of all places at Macy's.

Man, Rickels is awesome or was I should say. I was five when they went out of business in 1997. They had potential to have made it but they made the bad mistake of merging with Channel Home Centers in the early 90's. Their main brand was Northman but they were labled as Essential Home Classics. (Perrey any info on these? ) They had a few Hunters as well as a few Lasko models for sale as well as an awesome display that was like three aisles wide with like 5 rows of fans by about 12 rows of fans. What was cool was under the display was three aisles of lamps so they put the fans in there own aisles. Imagine going into a local supermarket A WHOLE isle of CEILING FANS it was the best store ever if there is one business I would bring back to life it would be Rickels Home Centers.
