You're probably talking about the same Ragshop that was next to the old Publix off Military Trail.. I've been there a few times and did notice the older fans, I don't remember what exactly they were...

I've never been inside or close to a KK, but I don't think any of my local ones have CF's. I know an older 'Dunkin Donuts near me had 2 PB GEV 52" fans with cane blades, but they were removed shortly after a remodel. A TCBY Treats near me also had 4 or 6 GEV 42" fans, and the store closed and was turned into a cleaner's place, and 1 out of the 4 still hung over the main counter, they were all removed when THAT closed and was re-opened as some kind of restaurant. Also, another TCBY Treats has 4 PB 52" FPV Litex builder's fans with multi-colored blades, and they are still there
My nearest KK store opened up when I was in 5th grade. It shut down when I was in 7th grade...about towards the end of the 7th grade anyways. That was about 5 years ago- the store still sits there, with mexican graffiti. For a while Pollo (pronounced "poy-yo) Loco (Crazy Chicken) was going to move into it- but the move-in signs disappeared. I have a local Circuit City store that went under last December that my local Party City has taken up for halloween costumes. My nearest donut shop? Dunkin' Donuts- about 14 miles away, and I went in there recently: the place was disgusting and filthy. It's why I go to my local bakeries (NOT WalMart or Albertsons). My local TCBY went under about 8 years ago. I make my own donuts every-now-and-then.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but an update on the Dunkin Donuts: they installed two ORB builders after not having fans after they took down the GEV's. Sorry but it's a little far and the fans are cheap so no pics.
I remember a Dunkin Donuts around here had two Encon Crompton Greaves white 3 bladers, funny thing how I remember them being installed right next to each other through out the whole place.. They got rid of those, gees I can't even remember, I wanna say early 90s. That was the last time I ever saw fans in Dunkin Donuts..
We had one TCBY yogurt shop. They had one Moss, the Hunter Comfort Breeze look a like, but only it was installed with a downrod instead of the big flush mount canopy, and a few Casablanca Zephrys (May have been Keylargos, I think I recall Cain blades). It closed in 2001 and turned into a Subway.. Of course it was totally remodeled and the fans were junked..
The McDonalds in front of the same shopping center where the TCBY was, had two very unique variable speed (Maybe speed switch) five blade fans, I remember they were Antique Brass, and they could very well have been North American Fan Company, but I don't know if they had flywheels or were spinner, I remember the chunky motor housings. They were installed in the main area where the lines formed. I believe this was the years 1983, 84, and 85 that I saw them there. I know they did not last long, because the by late 1980s they were already removed. Nothing installed in place of them, just haven't had ceiling fans in that location since.. Still being a kid I remember asking myself, what happened to the fans? For what ever reason they were removed, I don't know. I know they slowly started doing away with ceiling fans at Mcdonalds locations around here, but that was much too early.
Another McDonalds had a few 36 inch Encon Crompton Greaves 3 bladers and I believe they were removed in the early 90s
Burger King use to have fans. One location had Hunter Originals. Fans were taken out years ago, (Wanna say in the 2000s) and recently the Texco gas station next to it closed due to badly damaged during the last hurricane and was torn down, the Burger King decided to buy the property and tear the old one down and move it closer to the intersection.. Another Burger King had two, I think Casablanca Zephyrs (could have been Keylargos) with corroded broken flywheels, the fans were taken out a few years ago, and the Burger King was recently remodeled. I do remember back in 1992 going to eat there and the fans were working and on at a slow speed..
Another location also had Hunter Originals, actually the location in the Laguna project video I have on youtube. I haven't been in that one in years, and for all I know, they could still be there, but it's doubful
A Burger King (built in the 50s) in my area had some absolutely destroyed Emerson Northwinds. All 6 of them had bent blades; some were missing blades, and most had their pull chains snapped...they were on sporadically (wobbling like crazy), until they were removed, most likely just a few weeks ago. The fans looked just like this one:
Another Burger King (a little farther away than the other) still has some fans. They are just generic white footprint vent huggers, but they're in decent shape and don't seem like they will be removed anytime soon. I'm pretty sure that Burger King has been remodeled in the past few years, but the fans survived. Most are on low speed.
My McDonald's had three polished brass Casablanca Four Seasons...the building was straight out of the 80s. That building was torn down a few years back, and a super-modern, fanless building was built on the site.
