We all know that Casablanca is/was the flagship brand for lighting stores. However, at one point, I beleive that places such as the Home Depot and Sam's Club sold Casablanca... I think in the early 1990's. Also, I know that the Penney's catalog offered Casablanca and Hunter in like the mid 1990's. At one point, I was told by a rather eccentric lady that Casablanca was even available at K-Mart in the 80's... maybe she was confusing it with Hunter, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did because Home Depot carried Casablanca. And finally, didn't Lowe's sell Casablanca about a year or so ago... I think they only carried models like the Stealth, but it was very interesting seeing these high-end snobbish fans displayed among your average BillyBob Hunters. Does anyone have any theories or ideas about what caused Casablanca, this seemingly showroom only brand, to seep into larger stores over time?

due to hunter purchasing them, more on this when i get off of work (lunch break now) Lowe's did sell hunter-made Casablancas last year. They were so expensive though, they didn't sell and the Lowe's people began to complain. Casablanca later pulled them from the shelves, after only a few months. Lowe's did not carry any of the good models on their shelves, but they did offer a SELECT collection of regular casablancas through special order (one of them being the stealth).

Yes they were sold from Penney's . . . Spiegel sold Minka.
There's a thread about this in the main forum, in fact at least two of them. One is called "Department Store Ceiling Fan Brands" and the other one is "Casablanca Fan Co" or something along those lines.

I visited an Expo Home Center (Home Depot's upscale division) in St. Louis and they had a lot of Delta 3s left over...some even had intelli-touch. I'm persuading my uncle to get some for his house out there!
