What can I say about the Best things that happened to me this year.
I can can say absolutely nothing. This has been the worst year of my life.
1. A few of my close friends were homeless for a while, living in their cars.
2. Many personal friends I know have had family deaths. I never witnessed so many deaths up until this year. I can count on two hands of my close friends that had deaths to their close ones this year. Including my cat that I had since 12 y/o early this year.
3. I've never seen so much stress that people including me are going though.
4. I've never seen the crazy decisions that people make in the bar business just to try to make $$. Allot lot of cut throat and back stabbing going on.
5. Jobs are much hard to come by and don't pay much these days, as rent and the cost to buy a home has doubled with in the last 8 years, at least here in the big city. I've never seen so many for closers and for rent signs in my life.
6. First experience being in the hospital
Has anyone had anything good happen to them this year?
I can now say I just got a decent job, That I'm hoping to last. Thats one positive thing thats going for me so far.....

With no intent to belittle anyone or their stressors, I'd just like to point out that we often lose perspective and get hyped up over things that are seriously "First-world problems". People who live in third-world countries, like many nations in Africa and Asia, have it A LOT worse off than we do. And think of the folks in Iraq, who have no "home sweet home" -- when they walk out the door in the morning (if they have one), there's a pretty good chance they'll be killed by a random flying bullet. Or a roadside bomb. And think of our men and women fighting overseas there.
We live in the world's only super-power nation. And while no one has a perfect life, even here, we have it much better off than a huge percentage of the world's population. So sometimes, I find it helps to sit back and put things in perspective and realize that I'm getting myself really worked up and upset over what really are "First-world problems" (i.e. the Internet is down for a day, my truck needs an alignment, the grocery store is out of my favorite food, etc.)

2007 has been a good year for me. I relocated back home, bought a car, and have had some career advancements. It hasnt been a big year for fans, I havent obtained very many.

Adam, my condolences regarding your cat. I know how that feels, as our cat died earlier this year too. She was 13 but we got her when she was 1. It was a tragic and sudden death for her, she had an embolism in her lower back which cut off the blood to her hind legs and she couldn't walk. We had to put her to sleep. Other than that, this has been a pretty good year for me though:
1. I graduated from Penn State.
2. Got my commission in the United States Marine Corps.
3. Added many new items to my WWII collection, including a Luftwaffe officer's dagger and USMC captain's uniform.
4. Got some great new fans, such as the Broan/Alaska spinner and Nutone Slimline.
I hope 2008 brings much joy and good things to everyone else here and elsewhere!

Got my Craftmade Decorative in September! 6.My sister got a little kitty! Very cute. 7. Having pretty good marks in Sec 4. I know exactly what you feel about your Cat Adam, it happened to me in February 2004. My big black cat had a cancer and he was 12 years old! We HAD to euthanized him. But in August 2004 we adopt a black/white cat( a female this time) from a refugee. She is called Phoebe she is very cute and about 3 years old.

This is what was most memorable in 2007 for me:
The good:
1. Wisdom and patience with family and friends.
2. I declared my major last January after much weeping and gnashing of teeth, lol (well, it wasn't that bad, but it was a big decision).
3. I found more time to practice the pieces for the chamber orchestra I play in.
4. Some good old ceiling fans still in the box showed up randomly.
The bad:
1. My violin teacher's wife gave birth to a stillborn baby. It wasn't a good situation at all, but his family is closer as a result of it.
2. I need to raise my GPA.
3. I'm fairly shy, so I had some socially awkward experiences. Not as many as when I was in junior high, though.
4. The trunk of my car is leaking! nooo! It really is, so I need to work on the seal because that is where it is getting in when it rains.
I hope everyone has a prosperous 2008!
