I hope everyone's alright. The remains of tropical storm Hanna is up here in CT right now. It's just rain and a little wind. We haven't had a big tropical storm up here since Hurricane Floyd in 1999. The water is colder up here in the Atlantic, so the hurricanes die down, and we have Long Island Sound protecting us from the tide.

The past week was my first week of school and its was very hot and sunny. Today it was much more humid and cloudy but still pretty warm because of the rest of Gustav is coming around here. We just barley had a few drops of rain around 4PM.

It snowed here yesterday too, but we've already had two or three big storms that haven't lasted long. This time it's here to stay I think. Snow frustrates me because I have to walk home from school and no one ever shovels it out of the way.(Many days of wet feet, there's no room to keep boots at school) Plus the fact that it stays here so LONG since I'm up North.

Ben did you got any blackout where you lives? I heard in north east USA (New England States) got a big snow/ice storm. Here we did too but we did not got any blackout caused by the ice. But we got a LOT of snow. Montréal is all white.

We are in white out conditions with the huge blizzard, and have been all day and will be into the night. The whole city is shut down, along with all the highways. Travel is next to impossible, and school is canceled for tomorrow.

All of the snow melted, and it was 60 degrees F out today (15.5 C), and I went to school in a t-shirt.
I didn't get any ice. Just some snow, I'm too far down south. It's really bad up north though. Some people are still without power.

Monday temperatures went as high as 8 C so it melted like crazy and it was all wet and today the temperatures went below 0 so all the melted snow that became water refroze so the snow is all icy and glaze. Its almost like a skiting rink. Very dangerous to walk on it.

Jean, that reminds me of a few years ago; we had a large batch of freezing rain that settled right over our area. Everything was covered in ice, and driving would have been treacherous. My sister and I skated around the block on our shoes to a friend's house, then skated back home. It was very beautiful outside.

You guys haven't taken a bike with bald tires out on ice yet, have you. You fall on your ass. A lot.
