I forget to mention that but we had another HUGE snowstorm on Monday and the school was closed AGAIN! ;D We probably have 1 M of snow right now on the ground! Results: Beautiful White Christmas Tomorrow is my last day of school before the Christmas vacation! I also have a story to tell about Encon Crompton Greaves but its not really the appropriate thread for that?

Since this thread is dedicated to weather, One thing the weather never does in my area is cooperate, if you know what I mean. I constantly find myself having to reverse my fan directions more than twice a year. For the past 12 years or so, I've been constantly paying attention to what kind of weather we get. Over those years, the weather channel has become my 'best friend'

You dont have to reverse fans for the winter, just run them on low. Sometimes it works better to circulate heat in downdraft.

I can't really do much in the winter. I reverse the fan, but when I turn it on high, it creates a draft and it gets cold. I can't turn it on any other speed either because of the annoying buzzing of the motor.

Buzzing noise? Does the fan use a transformer for speed control? Or are you referring to a solid state wall control or variable speed control?

We have a switch in the wall for controlling it. Don't know if it's fan rated or not. Never checked.

Therein lies the problem. Does the switch control the fan and light together, or just the fan?
If it's both together, replace it with an on-off switch, and use pullchains.
If it's just the fan, replace it with a 3 or 4 speed wall switch.
Either way your fan will be silent. Right now, you're damaging the motor.

It controls the fan, the light has a normal light switch next to it. The pullchains would be too high to reach.
Meh, who cares, well replace it along with the fan.
