Hey! Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
My name is Pierce, and I am a collector of older ceiling fans (new or used). I am looking to buy lots of different models of ceiling fans from 1970 to 1989, but there are eight in particular which I am on the look-out for:
(1) A 4-blade ceiling fan, made in 1984, by Panasonic. This fan came in a bright-brass color, an antique-brass color, and possibly one or two other colors (maybe white). This fan has light-colored blades (a grayish-cream color). The different colors of the fan had slightly different model numbers, but one of these model numbers (the one for the bright-brass model) is F5210WH (I think). The fan has three speeds (not including “off”); these speeds are regulated by an orange cloth pull-cord. One of the unique features of this fan is that, even on the fastest speed, it goes very slowly compared to other ceiling fans. I have three pictures of this fan, so if you have a Panasonic ceiling fan (or know of one) which you think matches my query above, PLEASE PLEASE email me: lord_pierce@yahoo.com Any pictures, photocopies, information, rumors, stories, etc.--ANYTHING AT ALL RELATED TO THIS FAN--is VERY much appreciated.
(2) A 4-blade ceiling fan, made in the 1980’s by FASCO (F. A. Smith Co.). This fan was called the “Charleston”. The model I seek has a three-speed pull-cord (not including “off” as a speed), 4 blades, and the fan measures about 52” from blade tip to blade tip. This fan was rather common, and is identifiable by the double-rows of long, thin air-vent holes in the bottom of the motor. It is also identifiable by the fact that the blades attach to a flywheel which sits just below the motor of the fan. This fan came in several colors and several models. I am looking only for the bright-brass color or the antique-brass color fan. I can dig up several pictures of this fan, so if you think you have one or information on one, PLEASE email me: lord_pierce@yahoo.com
(3) A 4-blade ceiling fan, made in the 1980’s by Emerson Electric. This fan was called the “1895 Series”, and was very popular and made for many years. There were several versions and variations of this fan made, but I am only looking for a select few of them. I seek the models which had a 4-speed (NOT 3-SPEED) pull cord [“off” not included as a speed], whose diameter was about 52” from blade tip to blade tip, and which were either bright-brass or antique-brass in color. I have a few pictures of this fan, so if you think you have one (or know of one), PLEASE email me: lord_pierce@yahoo.com
(4) A 4-blade ceiling fan made in the late 1970’s/early-to-mid 1980’s by Emerson Electric. This fan was one of many models their “Casablanca Series”. It is sometimes nicknamed the “blender fan” because the motor looks a bit like a blender. It has two speeds, which are controlled by a pull-cord switch. The model I seek is white in color and has off-white (usually beige or very light yellow-orange) color blades (the blades are made from fiberglass and have a fake wood-grain). The fan’s diameter (from blade tip to blade tip) is between 40” and 52”, depending on the model. The metal cup on the bottom of the fan which the pull cord comes out of is small and tapered in shape. The fan blades attach to a flywheel seated right below the motor. The motor of this fan is very narrow in comparison to most other ceiling fans. Here are some pictures of the fan: www.geocities.com/ada19851985/emersonblenderceilingfan.html If you think you have this fan (or know of one), PLEASE email me: lord_pierce@yahoo.com
(5) A 3-blade industrial-style fan made in the late 1970’s/early 1980’s by the Moss fan company and marketed under the name “Caribbean Breeze”. The fan has a large, visible sticker on it which reads “Caribbean Breeze”. This fan came in white or brown, and with either three or four blades. I seek the white, three-bladed model. For the model I seek, the fan’s diameter is approximately 48”. The fan has several speeds, which are regulated by a surface-mounted control at the wall. Here are some pictures of a very similar model of the fan (the size is a little smaller in these pictures): www.geocities.com/ada19851985/carribeanbreeze36_3blade.html If you think you have one (or know of one), PLEASE email me: lord_pierce@yahoo.com
(6) A 4-blade ceiling fan made in the late 1970’s/early 1980’s by the Casablanca Fan Company. There is a metal tag reading “Casablanca Fan Co.” on the side of the fan, near the bottom. The model I seek is called the “Zephyr” (or “Zephyr 4000” or some other variation thereof). It is a common-looking ceiling fan. It has a pull-cord switch and a small black plastic dimmer knob for controlling the speed. The fan may or may not have a light kit, and the blades may or may not have rattan (cane) insets in them. This fan came in many colors, with many different styles and colors of blades. Here are some pictures of the fan: www.geocities.com/ada19851985/casablancazephyr.html If you think you may have one, PLEASE email me: lord_pierce@yahoo.com
(7) A 4-blade ceiling fan made in the 1980’s by Southern Breeze. The model I seek is called the “Fairwind”. Not many of these fans have survived to this day. I don’t know too much about this fan, but here are some pictures of one model: www.geocities.com/ada19851985/southernbreezefairwind.html I’d appreciate any information on this fan, the Southern Breeze fan company, and any other fans made by Southern Breeze. The fan pictured has a 4-speed control knob on the side of the fan, near the bottom. Since I know so little about the Fairwind, I don’t know what other colors or sizes it came in (if any). Ideally, I’d like this fan in a bright-brass finish. But any color is JUST FINE. So please, if you have any information relating to this fan or the company that made it, or any pictures, or the fan itself: PLEASE email me: lord_pierce@yahoo.com
(8) A 4-blade, very common-looking ceiling fan made in the mid-1980’s by the Tacony company. This model is called the “Vista”. It is 52” in diameter, has three speeds (controlled by a pull-cord switch) [“off” not included as a speed]. The blades of this fan mount on top of the motor, instead of on the bottom of it. Here is a picture of the fan:

So please...if you have any information (i.e. brochures, pictures, stories, thoughts, leads, etc.) about any of the above fans, or you have seen any of these fans, or you know where any of these fans are located, or you have one of these fans (regardless of whether or not you’d sell it or the condition it is in), I very strongly plead for you to contact me, via email, at lord_pierce@yahoo.com
Thank you, and make it a great day!
