ok lets try this again i have black blue white runs down tube Yep i have one yellow wire from motor that he twisted together with two yellow wire from reverse switch Ok, that's correct, and doesnt connect to the pullchain. i have one orange wire from motor that he twisted together with two orange wire from reverse switch Same as above. in have one brown wire from motor twisted to one brown wire to reverse switch This should be connected to #1 of the pullchain i have one red wire fro motor twisted together to one red wire from cap This is also correct. i have black from cap twisted together to one black wire on reverse switch This should be connected to one of the two power leads . . . which depends on the color coding. Are there any other black or white wires besides those from the downrod? Basically you can connect the white from the downrod to these blacks, or the black from the downrod. Whichever you dont should be connected to L on the pullchain. You appear to be missing a few wires. There should be two other motor leads which connect to #2 and #3. Otherwise it is a non-standard hookup, and without looking at it I dont know what to tell you. And, as I said, this is assuming the replacement pullchain, L-1-2-3, is correct.

It would have been connected directly to the pullchain. Doesnt seem like there's enough wires for 3 speeds without some other form of speed control.

If so, that should yield you high. Try it and see!
