Some of those funky Japanese-style Laskos: Silkon ad from 1982: apparently these were sold all over the place in Florida: Here's the WINDYNE, an ornate Blender with handcrafted parts (there are pictures of a small one floating around in someone's collection here): Close-up: A drawing of a Windyne in the heading of an events calendar for the Southern US (from Southern Living Magazine):

1. Those Laskos were a good deal, a quality fan for $59 including shipping! When was that ad from?
2. Silkons are so uncommon, this ad surprises me. Unusual fan to be at the World's Fair. I still dont know much about Silkon.
3. Royal Windyne made custom designs out of solid brass. I wonder how many different ornate blenderfans are/were out there.

Either from Better Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful, Popular Science, Family Handyman, or Popular Mechanics from 1977 through 1983 - forgot exactly which one but those are the magazines I looked through.

Wow I wish I had time to get to the library. Good idea.
Back in the 80s my uncle had a huge chest of similar magazines, leftover from when he built his new house. That's where I found the magazine order fan ads. There were also lots of Homestead ads.

They are very interesting. I have never heard of Silkon ceiling fans, or seen one, that I can recall.

Again, there's one on ToViewFans, that I want to get rid of. There was one on eBay recently also.

I like the ad for the Royal Wyndyne. I've seen the 52" version like the one that is pictured on there. I have a 36" Wyndyne, and I like it very much.
My favorite quotes from the ad:
"... the choice of architects, interior designers, restorationists, and homeowners of refined taste."...lol
"You will soon regret buying a lesser quality, mass produced fan with plastic or imitation brass components."

Very cool... you will have to be sure and post pics and videos if you do. Very few collectors seem to own Windynes... I'd like to see one go into the museum.

I know this is a bump the I might be getting three of the three light ornate blenders from an old hotel Now why do I HIGHLY doubt this? Oh yeah, because you say you're going to get (insert fan here) or might get (insert fan here) and never do. If you really are getting three....congrats. I'd love to see them.
