There used to be a Scotty's in Palm Coast aswell. That's either central florida or northern florida. I think it closed up around 2002.
I think builder's square closed around 1997 or 1998.

They sold hunter, litex, and I think some gulfcoast fans aswell, of course along with a number of other generic brands. Oh, and I have pics of my KD-36 laguna I can show you.

I used to go in Hechinger a lot, and there were a few of them in the Pittsburgh area where I live. A few of the Hunter fans that I own came from there. They were the only stores along with Builder's Square that stocked the classic SMC fans. I remember one Hechinger here in the Pittsburgh area closing circa 1999...Now it became a Home Depot.

Adam, another store you did not mention is Caldor. There used to be one in my area and it went out of business around 1997 to 1998. After that it was an Ames, that closed up, and now it's a burlington coat factory. The store had a few fans. I saw a hunter fan and I think an SMC aswell, I can't be sure. In the back room there were three 3 blade emerson blender fans, and in a back corridor that encircled the entire store, there were fifteen 56'' industrial fans in all. Caldor was a neat place.

We have the various franchises of Ace and True Value Hardware, plus Menards, which is a Home Center but cool enough to be classified as a Hardware Store.
True Value had their store brand which was Crosley, Encon relabeled. They also sold Hunter and Emerson.
I never went to Ace so I dont remember what they sold, other than Windemere (and CEC I think?). Matthew already posted what Menards sold.

Matthew already posted what Menards sold. When I went into the ace hardware around me, they had an older hunter summer breeze (before it was updated), a hunter savoy in white and brass finishes, along with a few crappy westinghouse fans. I think they also sold crompton greaves encon fans, they had 12 of them scattered around the store, They were high breezes and the 4 metal blade type in Adam's gallery just not ornate. I'm still trying to get those fans. They also had a display of old 80's fans still hooked up and hanging. There were 4 fans there; a spinner with a light kit (CEC?), a hugger with a schoolhouse globe, a 52'' fan (SMC?), and an odd fan with a ball/bracket mounting system and apparently two variable speed controls.
