Looking for more? There is an old storefront next to the Auto Salvage yard (were I work) that they bought to store parts. In there are six polished brass versions of that fan. Im sure I can get them for free because they are not used.

No it does not say Moss anywhere on it like the others do. It might not be a moss. With the model begining with the letter "T" It could be a Tacony, That copied the moss WF series. I have plenty of those fans. And every single one of those fans that I have, I found, except for the brass one that I have up.......Adam

I just wanted to see if it actually was labled. Most arent.

I partucularly like those Moss fans, and I never knew that they made so many models like the ones Adam rectntly acquired...I live in the Pittsburgh area, and those particular Moss-esque fans are scarce here. The last place I saw them was in a local church...at least I THINK they were Mosses. Does anybody know when fans of that style were discontinued? Long live Moss fans!!

Pretty much after the mid 1980's, I would say somewhere after 1986 they were no longer made....Adam

For pure curiosity sake, how is the condition of that newly added Moss? Are the blades still very clear or are they yellowish? Is the chrome is great shape? It runs well? I was just wondering.
Also, those Moss fans of that style were quite popular around here, but they seem to be disappearing rapidly. I had a polished brass one with cane blades. I got it from a store they were remodeling and they were replacing it with a Hampton Bay Cameron II. But the moss had shorted out lightkit, it only worked on high speed in reverse and only medium speed on forward (very bizarre). The first week I had it a blade busted in half out of nowhere. Then, the f-ing thing gave me a nasty shock when I was disconnecting the capcitor even though the fan was not connected to a power source. So I guess it still had some juice. I ended up getting it to work fairly well and I put white cane insert blades on it from and old JC Penney fan I had and sold it for $10 at a yardsale. God I hated that fan after it shocked me...lol. But they are great fans overall, just not the one I had!

A capacitor is a device that stores a charge, and then releases it when current is no longer applied. If you touch a charged capacitor, you will get shocked, I promise. The only way to avoid it is to discharge it first. As for the high/medium speed thing, I've never heard anything like that before. Could have been some loose connections in the switch housing (do those fans have a double-stack pullchain? I forget).

I have an old 1995 coastal breeze fan I got from a thrift shop along with a casablanca delta, both fans $2. Anyway, when I was disconnecting the thing from the main leads I got shocked.
The only reason I have this fan is because I like Hunter, just not the new original.
Hey pierce, I have an idea. Why don't you record yourself destroying a new original and then send it to the person that ordered the change with the motor and then post it on the rest of the web. ;D ;D ;D
That's what I would do.

What exactly was the finish of that fan?
I never knew those Moss fans had so many finishes to them

I think SMC also made a fan like the moss WF series. I have a pic of it but I have to find a scanner that works.
