I finally found a 40'' dayton/lasko industrial, two of them in fact. These fans are in a hair salon in a shopping center that seems to flood out everytime a tropical storm or a hurricane goes through. This is the same shopping center that has an odd crest, a few odd laskos with TOC canopies (not TOC fans), a few odd newer fascos, and a three blade K-63 switch-housingless blenderfans. They used to have two, but they took one down a few years ago because it was apparently falling off the ceiling. Well anyway, I went in there and I saw two 40'' dayton/lasko industrials. They were a little dusty, but absolutely MINT. It was around eight, and there was no one there but the owner. He'd give me both fans for $10, but he uses the fans alot for air circulation, so I might have to trade him for them.
As for the other fans I mentioned, I'll try to get them next.

So you got them, or not yet? Nice find either way.
What sort of Fascos, the imports? Or those with the Fasco mount flywheel?
If you grab the blenderfans I might like one.

They're imports, with the regular flywheel. They have vents that are similar to the ones on a delta. If you grab the blenderfans I might like one. Dan Unfortunately, they took one of the blenderfans down when I was about seven or so. There's only one now. The blender is in a supermarket that was formerly called shop and save. Those supermarkets had alot of emerson fans like blenders and friction drives. This one has three other fans in it. There are two 42'' laskos similar to the ones sold at walmart but with TOC canopies. These fans are also four speed. There's also a 52'' crest that kind of looks like a comfort breeze knockoff.

Ok, if they ahve a rubber flywheel, then they're likely not imports, either the American Spirit or the Gillespie. There are pictures of the Gillespie in the Yahoo Group, the American Spirit looks similar but with more basic vent holes. How do you know they're four speed? (If you're like me you mess with the controls on ceiling fans (and lights) in public places) Did the Crest have "panama" type vents but narrower?

I was messing with the pullchain on one of the laskos and the fan had four speeds. Did the Crest have "panama" type vents but narrower? This crest is a comfort breeze knockoff with the thin housing and vents. There was also a sticker right on the switch housing that says 'crest' on it.

I have finally gotten a 40'' dayton/lasko industrial. This one is at the thrift shop called B.A.T.S. (bryn athen thrift shop, or "bats in the barn (the building is infested with live bats) This place also happens to be the place where a certain individual likes to mount ceiling fans on ladders and telephone poles. Now for over a year now, there has been a 40'' dayton/lasko mounted on a ladder slowly rotting.
I went to the thrift shop today and what did I find? The fan had fallen off the ladder and into a deep pile of brush. Do you know how this happened? The fan happened to have an "unfortunate accident" (mwahahahahahaha) A few weeks ago, I fanally got tired of seeing that fan on that old ladder so I went over to it and undid the wiring and ropes securing it to the ladder and then I left. A week ago, there were some pretty strong winds and they blew the fan right off the ladder and onto the ground.
When I found the fan, the blades were bent pretty badly, but were relatively easy to fix. the person who put it up happened to be there today and he said I could keep it. He holds fans for me such as old desk fans, originals, and other name brand and heavy fans. The fan itself works pretty well, with the exception of the bearings, a broken switch, and a nissing pullchain. The fan did not have canopies to begin with, but does have the switch cover and finial.

Destroying someone else's fan so you can get it for free . . . you should have just offered him $20 for it while the blades were still intact. Besides, Brian Hicks destroys enough fans for everyone.

Besides, Brian Hicks destroys enough fans for everyone. That's not evil, I didn't destroy it, the blades are extremely flexible and are very easy to bend back into shape (unlike the blades on the 56'' size). only two blades are really in need of being replaced. The part of the blade with the screw hole broke off of two of the blades because of rust, but the fan can still be run safely and smoothly.

You sabotaged someone else's property for your own personal gain.
