I dont think they're Fanimation. They almost look like Fascos stuck on a pole . . . but the light makes it very unique . . .

I've seen Originals mounted that way before. I always wondered how fans mounted like that were wired.

Jeremy, where exactly did you see them? THE Place I saw the originals mounted like that was at a Cheddar's Casual Cafe in Newport News, VA in 1992.

All you have to do is open the switch housing and pull the wires through and out of the motor shaft. Then you connect them to a wire that runs through the pedestal and plug it in somewhere (or wire it into the floor).

Wait, what? I don't understand what you're talking about? How are Originals mounted like that? Wouldn't the weight of the motor make it fall over? Why would you need to run wires through the switch housing? Is it mounted on the ceiling? I'm confused...

Why would you need to run wires through the switch housing? Is it mounted on the ceiling? I'm confused... Pierce, give the man a Paint drawing. The wires that connect the fan to the power source run from the top of the fan, through the downrod, down through the switch housing to the speed control (and usually, the blue wire to the light kit). All you have to do to wire the fan up from the bottom is remove the cap from the switch housing and pull these wires out from the bottom. For example, with an Original, you would pull out the black, black/white striped, and white wires (these are tied together inside the switch housing). It is important to pull ONLY these three. Then you hook these up to the power wires that come out of the pedestal - I assume you'd have to reinforce the switch housing somehow as well. There are also non-Original Hunters mounted upside down to metal pipes in the Dave & Buster's on Walnut Hill in downtown Dallas.
