Can you tell me if these are Laskos from this description?:
Beige fan Plastic motor housing Blades mount to top of motor Motor housing is inverted and flat bottom. Blades were metal or wood (can't remember) but they did have a design on them. I remember these fans vaguely at Wal-Mart in 1996.

They were also offered in pink and blue. I wanted to get a pink one for my sister, but she refused. I hope that answers your question, Bryan.

One place I can recall seeing those Lasko fans was at a rest stop along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in 1997. We stopped there on our way to New York City for a class field trip. I could be wrong, but I think the fans there were blue.

Yep, those were the better days. The lasko contemporary was my favorate fan in the display. And everytime I went to a different wal-mart in the late 90's, one fan was always off for some odd reason while all the others were all on.

I'm not really sure why, but I always put every fan in the display on high and it was pretty damn cool to see them all on. My local wal-mart has finally gotten the new, tiny little ceiling display and there are only three fans in it right now and they're not hooked up.

Sounds like your fan was sucessfully identified.
There are a couple pictured in the Yahoo Group. I also have the motor to one (no blades) pictured on ToViewFans2.

My biggest question concerning Laskos was whether or not they were somehow affiliated with Emerson, since their blades/bracket looked extremely similar.
