A friend sent this fan picture for identification. It looks like a Crest, except the switch housing and blade arms, and the canopy looks like something I've only seen ona Broan. Any ideas?

I would have to say that Fan looks more like Crest to me. Because those fans used some of those builder vents and the globe. But I could be wrong though. I'm only guessing.

I've seen that canopy before. I saw a ge vent fan in a dollar store with that type of canopt. There was also a moss tropical breeze in there. The unknown emperor I uploaded on the yahoo group a while back also has that canopy.

the holders look like homestead, dude They look like but they're not the same. The arms have more arch, the brackets are wider at the bottom . . . basically they're not the exact same shape. But you're not the only one to point that out. Good eye as well.

Hmmm. Maybe that fan could be a Boarn. I wonder did they ever make fans with the builder vents?

I was searching through my Broan pictures, trying to see if any of them had builder vents (in order to answer your question, Shafarah) and I happened across one with the exact same blade brackets as the fan in question. It's in the Yahoo Group, simply titled 'broan', and has some parts still in plastic wrap.

And I'm guessing that the emperor in the unknown gallery is also a broan. The canopy is the same as the one pictured.

I would assume the two fans with the same canopy would both be Broan, at the same time it doesnt seem fitting Broan would make an Emperor, or at least that Emperor doesnt look like a Broan.

I think it's a Crest with Replacment Blade Brackets. Those Blade Brackets are NOT Original.

Blade Brackets are NOT Original. Why do you say that? They dont look out of the ordinary. They also look similar to Alaska blade brackets, and there is a lot of similarity between Broan and Alaska.
