They move alot of air on high. Well at least it does better than other industrials made today... NEWSFLASH! These hampton bay industrials don't move crap! They are made by COMMERCIAL ELECTRIC, which in reality, is CEC!!!! Looks can be VERY deceiving when it comes to any hampton bay fan. And on a lesser note, I think there's a definite connection between SMC and CEC, just look at the Commercial Electric builder fan.

They actually do move good air, as much as I hate to admit it. I hate SMC and CEC as much as you do, but I don't let that get in the way of the bare truth.

Like I suggested, let's throw some of those Gossamer Wind blades on a Crompton Greaves High Breeze and we can see if they're really worth anything. Surely someone with a colleciton and all their bits and pieces can put one together!!!
One more thing, I find it funny (no, sad actually) when a group of people actually starts cussing at each other over CEILING FANS. There are a lot bigger issues in life worth getting worked up about!

I dont know about today, but up through the 90s, SMC always stood alone. Their fans have always been very distinctive, from the canopies to the blades to the screws. And, in the 90s, they actually made some of the best quality store brand fans available. CEC has also had some good quality (import) models over the years.

Surely someone with a colleciton and all their bits and pieces can put one together!!! The problem is that the moulded blades require a bit more torque than the high speed models are designed to deliver. It would likely not move too much air and overheat the motor-- the way they are behaving on the Hampton Bay (Commercial) motors they're sold with. If you want proof that the blades are worth something, look at the Emerson Heat fan. Discontinued this year (sadly) it's basically a Blenderfan with moulded blades and it KICKS. I want one.

I saw a few of those when I want down to Myrtle Beach, SC. I saw them in a reastraunt full of antique brass studio series remotes on vaulted 15 ft ceilings. I also saw a few white ones when I want up to New York a few years ago. I saw these fans at an ancient train station/fairy dock and they had recently replaced a bunch of chanpagne deltas. Along with those fans, I also saw a sh*tload of those 4 blade nutone industrials.
