I would just like to start by saying I don't know anything about ceiling fans, so please be patient.
We are remodeling and have 5 casablanca fans, I think they are 1980 models. I can't figure out what model they are. They are bright brass and have a lot of scroll work on them. The blades are white and have cane inserts. I'm not sure how long the blades are, 54 maybe, I know they are longer than the new fans we just got. All 5 fans are idenitical except for two which have dome lights on them.
From the few pictures I've seen I think they might be a victorian. Does anyone have pictures of a victorian or can point me in the right place to look for a model number. When I look all I see on the fan is a casablanca sticker which has 8 - 80 written in hand on the top and 262 written in hand on the bottom.
They people who installed our new fans said they might be worth something, we are just trying to figure out what to do with them now.
Thanks for any help.

The definitely sound like Victorians from what you are saying, most likely older models.
All Casablanca fans have some collectible value, it is the newer ones (Inteli-Touch, etc) that seem to fetch the best prices. Condition is also a factor.
I have sent you a private message as well, as I may be interested in the fans.
Good luck!
Dan

How do I know if they have the variable speed control? These were all hooked up and had the wall nobs where you turned it to adjust the speed. I know that somehow it is different than how the new ones we had installed work. All of the fans are in working order, but pretty dusty. Three of them were used every day in bed rooms, these all have lights. I think the two from the living room work but my parents thought they made too much noise so didn't use them much. I'm not sure what will be done with them at this point, I'm just trying to find some info that I can pass on to my parents. They just want to know if it would be worth all the effort to try to sell them on ebay or something and ship them out. Thanks for the help. Will update if we decide to sell them.

They were variable speed then. They will fetch a very nice price on ebay.

sorry about the delay in replying, I've been out of town with only limited internet access. dan, I did get your PM and passed the info along to my parents. My parents are a little technologically challenged and leary of the internet so they have decided to have someone put them on ebay for them. They are now listed, they are the 4 white and gold casablanca fans (2 with lights). At this time the fifth is still being used since we haven't found a replacement we like yet. I do think they have variable speed, they had a black knob on the side of the fan for adjusting the speed. Thank you for all your help.

If your parents are wary of the internet, I would definitely recommend against eBay, you're a lot more likely to have a difficult transaction. All of my off-eBay transactions have gone very smoothly, versus dealing with a lot of unpleasantness on eBay.
