The home centers may take some time but I am seeing some VERY cheap DC builders at showrooms. The people I was talking to mainly focus on showroom stuff and there we are seeing lots of DC. Of course some brands are still going with AC so its really hard to say though. You do bring up a good point. The K55 thing is most likely gonna happen though ): Id not be surprised if the show room end of fans is purely DC in 5 years, fanimation could do like emerson did though, DC with flywheel as a K55 replacement I agree, I hope they do that instead of axing the best fan they have IMO.

I believe in the near future, more aluminum windings will be used instead of copper mainly to cut costs

do you think the size of the motor will increase to compensate? Or will we just see less-powerful motors?

do you think the size of the motor will increase to compensate? Or will we just see less-powerful motors? Less powerful motors I encountered a damaged cheapo industrial recently, and upon disassembling the fan, it had a slightly thicker stator, but with aluminum windings instead of copper

I really wish that they put ge vents back on ceiling fans again. Because they were popular in the 80's and the 90's and this ventless ceiling fans is going crazy and I want it to stop! What do you guys think? '

Could? They already did. The PCDC is a pullchain DC fan.

i did notice from my latest acquisions from scrapyard that there has been a rapid increase of aluminum windings being used in ceiling fans instead of copper, and every fan i got that had aluminum windings werent working despite the coils not being burned at all
this made me assured that many industries may move from copper windings to aluminum windings in order to save costs

do you think the size of the motor will increase to compensate? Or will we just see less-powerful motors? i found one motor that had a copper outer winding and aluminum inner winding, the copper winding was slightly burned but working, aluminum winding wasnt burned at all, but doesnt work at all.. anyhow, the aluminum winding area had much more coil than the copper winding area.. as with other fans with aluminum windings i noticed, i noticed some had the same stator sizes as those with copper windings, but the blade design was much narrower for the aluminum winding fan
