Hello! Original Hunter remote broke, replacement not available. Bought aftermarket kit with receiver & matching remote. Problem is wiring doesn’t match.
Questions 1. Does my Hunter Model 25736 fan motor contain three different windings that each receive a specific voltage output from the circuit board assembly based on which button on the remote is pressed? 2. If so, will I be able to use an aftermarket kit I bought (has receiver & matching remote)?
Details Original has 2 supply wires into motor. These 2 go into a 7 wire connector in the circuit board housing that uses individual capacitors for varying the output voltage and the fan speed, depending on which remote button is pressed.
The aftermarket receiver has only 5 wires: Input: Red (power) White (neutral) Output: Black (motor load), White (motor neutral), Blue (light kit load)
My Conclusions/Assumptions -This aftermarket receiver changes speed via solid state capacitors within the receiver - so only one wire is needed to supply the appropriate output voltage to the motor. -While on the original, the speed is varied by the separate capacitors in the circuit board housing so, 3 separate wires are needed to supply the appropriate voltage to the specific winding in the motor.
Please let me know if I’ll be able to use the aftermarket kit. Both Hunter and the aftermarket kit manufacturer (Pikeman) have been unable to help.
I have photos of the components and the wiring if this will help clarify. Thanks!
