To access the light pull chain switch, you would first have to turn off the power, then have to unscrew the bottom screws on the switch housing, then you can see how many wires the light chain has. In most case it would be 2 wire, and any 2 wire on/off pull chain switch like this would work. In some case it would be a 3 wire pull chain, and a 3 way fan light switch would work.

An electrician wired a 3 way fan light switch on one of my Monte Carlo Mini to control speeds, and when I got it, I replaced the chain with a correct one.
