Do you have a designated fan area. I'm debating getting myself a 10x16 shed for my fan hobby so I can finally have a workshop for my fan.
I bought my house last year. I'm very blessed. I have 9 fans in my house. (7 in the house and 2 in the garage) I could probably put a testing area in my garage but my wife (who is fully supportive of my hobby) keeps her car in there and theres really not enough room in there.
When we bought our house her rule was firm that for the fans in the house I'm not switching them out constantly and I've kept true to that even with the garage ones.
At this point I have about 10-12 stored at my parents that are "my collection" basically retired fans out of there house, childhood fans etc. I'd love to have a Cole S. type basement but that isn't happening especially since my house doesn't have a basement. I currently have a 8x10 shed which the ceiling is to low and my riding mower is in and also a shed that is an old pheasant pen with a dirt floor but that is horrible for collecting. My concern if I get a shed is I guess it wouldn't be climate controlled however I could use it for testing and get a cool place for all my collectibles that aren't throughout the house.

Ive got a dedicated fan room at my house with size of roughly 4.55m x 9m, concrete wall and ceiling having a total of 70 hooks and 20 power supply points divided into 5 sections with an additional room for painting and cleaning fans
Fully designed in 2016, and slightly altered with power supply points and cutting out whats unnecessary, construction began in 2017 and completed in july 2021 along with the house
In addition to fans, a customized control panel box was designed to install regulators of any size directly on the door and operate from it
A brief video showing all fans operating under 1 ceiling made for national ceiling fan day

Nah I don't have a fan workshop area here. There's a tiny little garage that I can work in, but there's not really a good bench setup unless I put up sawhorses.
One thing I really want if I get a house is a two car garage, with room for a workbench. I think I would really enjoy that, as well as maybe a little shed out back.
Also I wouldn't store anything like fans or collectibles in a shed or outbuilding though if they're in good shape. It might just be here in Florida but I've noticed that fans and things stored in places like that tend to always end up with problems. I have gotten plastic bladed box fans or plastic fans at sales that were out in the shed or garage and the plastic feels chalky and gets this weird mildew like stuff on it. And metal parts get rusty.
I'm thinking it's due to the humidity and big temperature changes we get here. For that matter I won't store things in the attic either.

My collection is installed in our unfinished basement. However, I don't have any electricity running to the fans, just to the bare bulb lights on the ceiling. Maybe one day I'll get at least SOME fans wired up. So the basement is mainly my "workshop".

I wish you the best of luck with the buying process or lease. Can’t wait to see it. Thinking my shed/workshops gonna be out on hold. Looking at putting up a fence for our dogs instead.

Ughhh the conundrum again looking at a 12x16 shed problem is the price.
However the question is how much can I get for trade in or do I sell the old one but then it’s like it’s not truly weather proof

Have you looked at Lowes or Home Depot? I think I've seen some at Lowes that are pretty reasonable. There are also places online that sell them and ship flat, you can assemble it pretty easily. Here where I am there are a couple places that sell them also pre built, there's a place here in Florida that builds them and ships them out also. They have multiple sizes and styles, windows, doors, etc. Maybe there's a place that does that where you are that might be more competitive.

The build quality and materials are so much better with some of the local places with pricing within a few hundred dollars. All plywood instead of OSB. The place I bought my current one said they’re not doing trade ins however they said that I could probably sell it for more then I paid 14 months ago. Problem is that I’d have to get someone to buy who can move it. If that were the case I paid $2k for it. My wife’s saying now to keep it but a big sheds gonna be shy of $5k that’s a lot of coin.

Welp I did it. This is my 30th birthday present to myself. Ordered a 10x16 shed. Gonna be awesome. Paid a little more to get the Dutch Barn ceiling so I can get the high ceilings. So I am going to have a permanent fan and then a testing temporary area.
My wife thinks I should go with an outdoor/damp rated fan. Now I'm researching those. I've had an Emerson/Kathy Ireland Sea Breeze at my old apartment I was pleased with. Definitely won't be a Hampton Bay Gazebo not thrilled with that had one capacitor went in 6 months. Only Capacitor problem I ever had in the many fans I've owned.

I took a picture of the Bronze line in my 7x8 shed. My fiancée picked up the shed from her work(Lowe's) last year for $50. Apparently someone returned it cause it was missing parts, come to find out the only piece that was missing was one of the front panels so we just ordered the missing part and voila, a brand new shed for $50 that goes for like $600 new lol. This is mostly a storage shed/workshop cause I am not lucky enough to have a garage at this place. The floor it sits on is made out of scrap wood from my work, deck screws, L-brackets and some patio stones. I'm into the whole circus for under $200. I rent this place so I am investing as little money into it as possible. It is amazingly solid for being basically made out of OSB from a crate and some 8 foot 3x3 lumber from shipping machinery via pallet. For power there is a 50ft extension cord ran to the shed from an outdoor outlet on the house with a 3-plug head on one end, this gives me 3 plugs inside the shed for things. Lighting is an old fluorescent vehicle trouble light that is hung by its hooks. As for the fan it is a 1999 Banvil 36" Bronze-line with a generic variable speed control ghetto wired in-line that just plugs into the extension cord. The whole thing looks super crappy but its all grounded properly and is safe, so whatever. The fan is about 12" from my head so whenever I'm reaching up on the shelves or whatever I turn the fan off so I don't hurt myself lol

Nice. I've been off and on thinking about getting a shed. I kind of like the wooden ones Home Depot and Lowes have but don't know how they hold up. I really need to get some additional storage and this would probably work out cheaper than renting a unit over time. Only thing I'm concerned about is it gets HOT here in Florida and that along with the humidity not sure how plastic and metal items will hold up.
I really want to take the leap and buy a house but it just seems like an awful time with the high prices and on top of that the interest rates going up. Wish the prices would become more appropriate or had bought two or three years ago. Did see a house near my parents that would have been perfect on an acre with a two car detached garage but it needed a ton of work and the neighbors yard is full of trucks and semi trailers for a view. LOL That would have been a nice place though.
