Here's an interesting Matsushita product I acquired last June. A rare and unusual V-air desk fan. It's still unclear if it's a side brand of Vornado. Obviously it looks nothing like what Vornado usually offers. It's obviously a Matsushita product made in Japan. The sticker underneath the base does not mention KDK, Panasonic, National or Vornado. It was imported by a local Montréal company call Shine Industries LTD. It has a lot of recognizable features from National fans notably the dark blue panel and this specific center piece. Around here Matsushita products are usually branded KDK and ocasionally Panasonic, Nationals are rare. I had never seen this style of center piece on a Matsushita product around here before. Although it does not show, it's a used fan. It's physically in very very good condition. Very clean, scratchless and not yellowed. Nothing's missing or is broken. Mechanically it still has a little flaw even after a good cleaning and oiling. It does not always starts on it's own on low speed. It need to be warmed up with medium or high speed. Before oiling it could not even start on it's own from medium speed. After running for about 10 minutes on medium or high speed it can start on it's own on low speed. It really seems like the temperature of the motor makes a different on it's fluidity. It's a very powerful fan! All the speeds are MUCH faster than on my 30 cm KDK from 1978 which runs on pitch. Like my KDK, this one also have the 5-way oscillation which runs flawlessly.
