Here's a Westinghouse Splendor I got new in the box last July. I have been intrigued about this model since I first saw it at Réno-Dépôt in July 2010. It's the perfect exemple of what a typical early 1980's four wood blade 120 cm spinner without switch housing and with lower canopy would look like in the 21st Century. I love how the bottom of the motor is plain. It's got the four blades, a classic spinner motor shape and a lower canopy like an equivalent of this would have had in the early 1980's mixed with a contemporary finish, contemporary style blades and an updated ball and socket mounting. It's got a reverse switch on the lower canopy like most of contemporary spinners without switch housings, it's remote controlled instead of using a 5-speed wall control hence the thick upper canopy. It's my first ceiling fan with an included remote control. The low speed provided by the module is unfortunately too fast doing about 90 RPMS. It's pretty powerful and moves an impressive amount of air for a contemporary fan doing about 210-220 RPMS on high. It's got a style of bracket that is not meant to be visible like a lot of spinners had in the early 1980's and uses decorative flat rivets instead of a badge or ordinary screws showing on the bottom. The wood blades reverses from a silver finish to a graphite finish. This is the silver finish showing. Enjoy!

Jean,
Nice fan and great video. Thanks for posting! I really like this fan, especially the fit and finish. Interesting hidden-blade mounts. The rivet-looking attachments on the bottom side of the blades are awesome. I think it really adds something to this fan. I've always believed that if you can't hide something you would rather not see (and who wants to see screws or round pieces of tape hiding the screws), embellish it and make it a focal point. It has a very hand-built look to it. I'm thinking boat or airplane construction when I see those rivet-like covers.
So glad I joined this forum as it has opened my eyes to many fans that I never knew existed.
Thanks again and take care!
Jim

Yes I like that they created special wider rivets that do indeed reminds us of boat rivets rather than seeing ordinary screws showing on the bottom which would have been ugly.

Update: I tested this fan with a 4-speed wall control and I get a much better low speed of about 45-50 RPMS.

Nice fan! I do like how these spinner ceiling fans with metal blades are back into style. This reminds me too of an Evergo.

The motor is similar to the one on the Venti fans in Malta, but without the design at the bottom.

The motor is similar to the one on the Venti fans in Malta, but without the design at the bottom. Yes, it's one of the most popular spinner fan motor shape. SMC also have fans with a motor of this shape.
