As some of you might know, I accidentally damaged the windings on the Venti ceiling fan, while attempting to make it faster. \
The good news is, I have bought a second hand ALIC ceiling fan from Malta Park for just Euro 15. It is quite similar to Venti, but has curved blades. Both canopies are cracked, the blades have no angle at all except for the shanks. The blades are very heavy, as they are made of iron, not aluminium. However they are of very low quality and bend easily even by hand! I have not tested it yet, but I suspect it will perform very slowly due to the 1.4 Mfd capacitor, and super heavy iron blades. So, I can use the Venti blades, but will have to change the shanks, as the holes do not match. I know it might sound nasty, but I might cut the shanks out of the iron blades, using two layers.
I modified the motor to my likings:
1. The motor was attached to the down rod with a sort of shackle, which I took off, and joined the motor straight to the down rod.
2. I will now use a spare capacitor holder of a Relite Rapide MKII.
3. I peeled off the gold ribbon, and instead drew 3 red rings in felt pen. Now it looks like a Crompton Greaves High Breeze I saw on Youtube which had ben repainted with red rings. It also looks a bit like an Orient De-Luxe.
I also modified the shackle, by replacing the pin with a bolt and a nut with a washer and a spring washer.
I am using the canopies which were 3d printed for the Venti and the same down rod I made with the rod of a wardrobe, as the one on this fan is too long and thick for the canopies to fit.
The only thing I left the same is the mounting bracket which is of higher quality than the rest of the fan.
I will try to upload videos soon.
