Recently the light sockets stopped working (I tested them with good bulbs) and shortly after that the fan stopped working. Electrician confirmed that the power supply was fine, which I suspected as I could hear the motor getting power. Even with a push the fan will no longer turn. I'd love to fix it instead of replace but there aren't too many shops in town that do fan repairs, so I'm trying to dig up as much info as I can so maybe I could find parts. There's no brand anywhere on the unit, just the numbers HC-1993 BR 0595. TIA for any info.

Is it a remote control fan? Assuming it is since it doesn't have any pull chains. If so, then it sounds like the receiver module or the remote control has gone bad.

Actually there are pull chains but I had removed them so the guests in this house didn't pull them trying to figure out what was wrong. No remote.

Looks like you have a Beverly Hills California Country ceiling fan If the fan was running fine without any bearing noise (which will be a crunchy noise/hiss when you turn the blades) I think you might have a capacitor problem. The one way to fix this is to open up the fan to see where it is located first. (most likely in the light fixture itself or in the motor housing.) It will be a small black colored box. You just need to order a replacement with the same value and wiring setup if possible. Good luck!
