I find older tools interesting. I liked the Black and Decker drills everyone had when I was a kid. My dad has a Craftsman tool cart from probably 1993 about, and also a very old Craftsman tool box, must be from the 50s or so. It's handy to have all the Craftsman drivers and sockets when working on stuff. He also has some of the older drills. We even have an antique wooden hand crank drill our neighbor gave us one time.

Power tools are a godsend when working on cars.

Ive always preferred hand tools over powered, with screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers, and power tools with saw and drills
As a part of my workshop design, i ended up buying electric screwdriver to ease the screwing (especially wood screws) and some other jobs, as i did notice im sometimes having a weird muscle pain on my wrist when i apply extra force for screwing/unscrewing
As for brands, im most familiar with rolson for hand tools.. and the most handy hand tool for misc jobs i use is the lockjaw plier

I like power and hand tools. My dad is somewhat a tool collector in his own way he buys them at yard sales and so forth gave me quite a few and then if something breaks I’ll replace it. Power tools more or less I either buy new mostly craftsman stuff (decent quality and has to be made in the USA). But hand tools I normally get second hand.
I did get a nice set of socket wrenches from craftsman when I bought a craftsman push mower last year. Side note that mower was an excellent buy, Honda motor I love it so much lol.

My dad used to always buy Craftsman tools but the last few years he's gotten a lot of stuff from Harbor Freight or also the Kobalt brand at Lowes. My grandma got me a socket set from Harbor Freight for Christmas (well technically but didn't get it until spring because Covid.) which I do like to have. Sounds like the Craftsman stuff now is nice, I don't have any experience with it although our neighbor gave us a newer Craftsman wheelbarrow before they moved. The plastic tub has cracked unfortunately, in fact it broke once and had to be replaced already before they gave it to us.

The nice thing with the Lowe’s craftsman stuff is it’s all made in the USA for the most part by Stanley black and decker where the Sears if you still have one has all the Chinese crap.
Harbor freight is gaining popularity in our area although I’ve yet to buy something from them.
