Restored one union shaped SMC H56 from early mid 60s, earliest generation of the golden flag logo plastic canopies The fan is not dated, unlike the usual habit of SMC, but based on its structure (label plate that screws on to the motor, thickness of the motor's chunk comparing to the later and earlier models and capacitor), the earliest SMC ive come across that was dated was in september 1967, and it had a thinner plate . My assumption is it could be somewhere between 1964 and 1966 One of the chosen fans for the project The airflow is so powerful i could feel a bit of breeze from outside the room

Nice early SMC! Even earlier than they were exporting here I'm sure.

Nice glossy finish! What paint do you use? You could have easily tape over the logo and paint the lower canopy.
I wonder if SMC H series were ever made in 120 volts.

I took it to the workshop i manage, they used some high quality paint and matched the color with the original sample As of the lower canopy, instead of painting i decided to unyellow the canopy, logo faded completely in the process, the canopy couldnt get more unyellowed than what it ended up with The logo was rubbed with paper painted with gold spray paint These were made in 120v, i found listing in saudi where the H56 was on sale and was rated 120v
