As a part of my house project, ive chosen to install Golden fan and New fan in the hall after many considerations made, everything is set except the upper canopy of new fan.. i havent seen any here yet, but browsing the photos in gallery and comparing with my canopies i can see a difference in golden fan, and new fan lower canopy is plastic with an embossed silver logo Im wondering what upper canopy would fit the new fan Pics below are: golden fan canopies, painted matte white, new fan canopy painted matte white, and a prototype of 60s SMC H series canopy that wasnt printed properly (this can be fixed with putty smoothing).. my initial thought is to go with a bell canopy similar to SMC seeing that all new fan canopies are bell type - thanks for the website adam, i actually searched for ur link to that image hosting website in the forum before creating this post

I personally like the shape of the one you printed out. It's definitely more please to the eye.

A little update: The previous golden fan turned out not to work, i had to replace the motor with another working one, i got a newer version (slightly thinner) than that one and it had its ring missing, just like all the new fans that i have, got them restored and operating, although both still lack rings The motor support part of blade arm of new fan was fabricated and welded on the existing arm as it was cut off in the scrapyard, i was so worried it would have that kind of permanent wobble with the unbalanced blades, but towards the end it was surprisingly balanced with no wobble at all! Golden fan blades ended up facing downwards and new fan upwards, i managed to balance them in a way they are almost the same level

Hi Tais,
Love the install! Perfect fans for an all white room with tall ceilings. They blend in quite well, but once the eye catches the movement and gloss on those upswept blades, you notice how well they complement the clerestory windows.
Great job… now back to the workshop! :-))

Wow! Those are some solid, thick blades! No wonder the speed was limited.
Nice to see a couple of fans hanging from that workshop ceiling.
Take care!

Tais, Nice videos. Thanks for posting. Honestly, I like the graceful upswept metal blades better. Sorry, had to say that! Is that your living room? I'm always interested in foreign architecture/interiors. Take care! Jim

Jim I agree about the metal blades, unfortunately those were the best i got, but both had too many issues, one with unbalanced fabricated blade arms and the contractor didnt follow my orders and messed it up big time, the golden fan all i have are badly bent The wooden blades was an experiment i did to replace the metal blades for the sake of beauty, and it was a success, however the experimental badges i had wasnt fitting in both blade screw setups in any angle, had to scrap the idea and keep it badgeless Thats the family living room, yes

Tais,
Got it! I didn't realize that the metal blades were in that bad of shape. You made the best of it and the wooden ones are the obvious choice if they actually work better. Most people besides those on the forum wouldn't even notice, especially at the height they are installed.
Take care!
Jim
