After it started doing about 60 RPM on high it got replaced with a Emerson Sea Breeze. This is the outdoor fan I recommend to anyone it moved good air, looked great, and is an Emerson so you know you can bet on it lasting. I've seen lots of Emerson Sea Breeze with a bad capacitor in Golden Gate Park conservatory.

I want to say that I actually got 2 Mariner instead of 1. Unfortunately the motor on the other one was bad and when I powered it it wouldn't run no matter how many times I pulled both chains, and wouldn't even hum. I determined that both black and white wires were connecting properly even in the mole. Then I tried again and when I pulled the reverse pull chain, there was a spark! I immediately stopped using it and messaged Hunter Fan Company, and asked if there was a replacement motor. They actually offered to send me a whole new fan for free, and since that exact model is no longer available (it was replaced with 5XXXX), Hunter gave me choices for new fans including some Casablanca (Hunter owns Casablanca as of 1996), and I picked Casablanca Aris. So Aris was my first brand new ceiling fan in my collection, unfortunately I had to use this box to send dead Mariner back per Hunter request so I couldn't keep the box. I remember passing a coffee shop that had them, and they were set to high by the chains and they seem to be controlled by on/off switches. However I sometimes saw one (the one that sparked when I had them) looking like it was on medium, but other one I always saw it on high or off, so maybe that one was always having some kind of motor issue. I am keeping a working one as long as Hunter doesn't recall it! I did noticed on Home Depot’s website the Mariner is on sale for $83 which is cheaper than Hampton Bay outdoor models. Kinda surprising as the Mariner used to be $99 but had gone up to around $120.
Now the sale price is only good if you order it and pick up in store or ship to house. If you try to buy it in the store it’s still $119 which makes no sense.
What I wonder is fl if these are on sale due to the logo change. The ones in stock seem to have the script Hunter logo where if you look on Hunters site they have the new all caps HUNTER logo.
So I wonder if these are marked down to clear the older stock?

You’re right that doesn’t make sense.
We don’t have the mariner in stock anymore to be honest I don’t know that we have any Hunter outdoor fans at Home Depot anymore. Since the changeover to the Gazebo III we lost the white finish and get the north pond instead

Yeah mine only has a few Mariners in stock and I think that’s the only model they stock.
I like some of the Hampton Bay outdoor models.
A bit off topic but I learned not long ago that the Gazebo came out way before I realized. I always thought early 2000s, maybe late 90s. But come to find out it was one of the first Hampton Bat models, and early ones had a 188mm motor.
Now, my aunt and uncles beach house was built in 1986, and has mostly what I think are Moss WF series inside. But on the porch is a Hampton Bay Gazebo with spot lights. My uncle said that fan was original to when the house was built and I didn’t believe him. Thought there was no way it could be from 86. But I guess it very well was!
