Anyone have an idea what brand? Fan makes noise, goes away, then comes back. Thought I would oil it, and went to look for the instructions/owners manual and cannot find it. From what I can recall, I installed in 1991. I know I have never oiled the motor, and I am hoping that may solve the problem. There are no markings that I could see anywhere on the outside of the unit, blades or globes. I have not yet started to disassemble! Thanks in advance! Bob

So when I took this guy down, these were the labels I was able to find. Shows a model number of CD 52. Also shows a toll free number. Believe me this is not for any kind of ceiling fan company! Lastly in the upper right of the label it shows E106510. Again, my original goal was to oil this motor to eliminate squeaking. If any of the masters out there have any suggestions, I am all ears! thanks! Bob Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Bob I do not know the model of fan you have even with the identification tags unfortunately. Someone else on the forums might know however. If you remember where you may have purchased it, that might help me with identifying the fan. Anyway disregarding the model of fan, unfortunately there is no real way of actually oiling your fan since it has a direct drive motor. What that means is that your motor has permanently sealed bearings encased within the motor. (there is one on the bottom and one of the top) Now, you can replace these if you completely disassemble the whole fan. But I will say it is an expensive and time-consuming hassle to take off all of the components as well as prying off that black casing around the motor. Unless you have the tools and the time, I would not recommend this. However, you might have a way to still put life into your fan. I do not know how well this method works, but you can let the fan run on the ground without the motor housing (brass part) and put in WD-40 to break up the gunk in the bearings. Then you wipe off the WD-40 and let Oil such as Zoom-Spout settle and work its way through into the bearings again. This may settle the noise but I do not know how effective it will be in the long run. Hope this helps and good luck!

Brian Thank you for the info! Not what I wanted to hear, but that settles it and now I know what is next! Sharing of info for those as uneducated as me, I found that all 15 screws to the blades needed some tightening. So not using the fan during the winter, we will see if that diminishes the noise in the spring! Again THANK YOU for the reply! Bob

Bob Sorry for the bump but I found out that the brand is Celestique. I have an identical one that I got few years ago, and then someone showed a box saying it's Celestique. The manufacture is Ja Yang.
