I don't know, to be honest I like a lot of them if they aren't too overdone. I think it's kind of one of those 'me too' things like anything that gets popular though. My biggest thing with it and probably why I wouldn't be able to ever get any is think of it 30 or 50 years form now. LOL I think most likely people might just get tired of them or their tastes change and get tired of looking at them or they don't mean anything anymore. That's just my thinking anyway.
I know my grandfather got two tattoos when he served in the Navy, my grandmother couldn't stand them. As a kid I used to ask what those were and my grandma always complained about them and told me not to ever even think about getting a tattoo! LOL
None of my friends ever got any that I know of although my best friend's wife has gotten a few. I know a couple of people at work have them, and at the gyms I've been to a lot of the guys have them.
I honestly don't like them on women at all. I think in some situations they look ok but overall I'm not for them. I just hate how some people just cover them selves in idiotic ones. Like you're putting a graffiti wall in the city but making your body like that instead of doing some more tasteful ones.
My Great Uncle did the same thing he got a skunk. He said he was drunk as can be when he did it and when they added the color it hurt 10x worse. He said he was stupid and it hurt for days after lol. This was back in the 50's.
My close friends never did. I have some friends with them and a bunch of people I work with and most just look idiotic lol.
