Hi, I rebuilt a 42" Hunter Original (model 23827 serial 318147). Everything inside looked complete and aok...just had some caked old oil to clean off before reassembling and refilling with the proper 10weight oil. The bearings and everything looked good. Cap looked okay but replaced it with a new one with matching part number. Here is my question...the link below is to a short video of it running w/out blade arms and blades. It makes a rahrahrah kind of sound when it turns at each of the three speeds and the bottom metal casing gets pretty darm warm. flic.kr/p/2jFSaHhIs this something ok for Hunter originals or is there something more I need to do before finishing this rebuild up for my porch? Thanks for any info!

I have a hunter (not original) 25444 that I replaced the bearings, and it makes the same noise. I would like to know why. Is the motor bad? or is the original capacitor bad? The noise is gone when the switch is off. The fan is operated by toggle switch on the wall, not a variable speed switch. I replaced the pull chain speed switch with ZE-268s6, because the previous owner replaced it with the wrong switch (ZE-208s II). www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfZf15mMvu4
