My late 70s house has a whisperfan without a light kit, and the flywheel just gave up the ghost. I have a replacement on order, but before I start removing the switch housing (or trying to anyway), I thought I'd check to see if anyone had a user manual or any guidance.

Wasn't too bad, for anyone in the future doing this I would say the only things you might want to know are: -Have a rubber mallet handy to get the flywheel on if you are trying this while the fan is still mounted to the ceiling -If you are using a SwitchCo flywheel to replace an OEM flywheel you will need new machine screws for mounting the blades (10-24 x 1/2), the original seem to use 8-24 x 1/2 (interestingly the ebay vendor I used seemed to think they were 12-24 x 1/2) - I used Harbor Breeze #10 screws - Have wire cutter/strippers as well as wire nuts handy if the switch housing has never been removed. There are numerous pigtail connections between the reversing switch and the motor Attachments:

Also, finding a Whisperfan in a house you just moved into is super cool considering how uncommon Whisperfans are compared to Casablancas of the era.
