Thanks! We closed now a ton of stuff to fix and uodate . So i received my Panama... they now have composite blades instead of plywood it says and tested the motor and BEARING noise ticking etc.. needless to say its going back. Hm...you're in the FB fan group, aren't you? This is the second time I've heard the exact same thing about this new Panama today. Don't know what's with the bearings in your unit and possibly others' fans out there. You've probably seen me say this but there's great basic fans out there for far less money, the best of which is the Paramount XP. You know how good those are; they're $99 on Amazon (link here ) . There's also the Fanimation Edgewood (I have one) for $150 [ link ] ; these are excellent fans too. I'm guessing you've seen Josh tell you about how good the new Craftmades are; they're great fans as well. Pricier than the Hunter and Fanimation though. You also might wanna give this right here a look. This is the best all-round fan I've mentioned but is by far the costliest.

The Hinkley Windward looks like the MX Excels that Subways have. Those are indeed good fans, 188x22mm motors, 16° pitch. To me the Hunter Paramount XP is the best deal of the bunch, it would be even better if it was back to $65 or whatever it was down to before. But still where can you get a 188mm motor fan, wood blades and good build quality for $99 these days? If the performance was better I'd recommend the Kichler Fryst (a Hunter Original copy) - wood blades, cast motor housing, 188x25mm motor with iso ring. BUT as mentioned before they only draw around 75 watts so the performance is a lot lower. But you can get them on eBay for $63 with free shipping, in brushed nickel and brushed bronze, and for a fan that retailed at least in the $300 range, they're still a decent deal, IMO. Build.com had them for the same price but with a 20% coupon, it brought the price down to around $50. I was able to find the XLP Panamas in bronze here: www.ceilingfandirection.com/casablanca/54-traditional-great-room-maiden-bronze-finish-4-speeds-ceiling-fan-with-light-fixture.htmlThis website is associated with CoreCentric Solutions, the same company that listed them on eBay before, same price and everything and free shipping. I don't know how I feel about that site, but CoreCentric appears to have decent reviews. I'm thinking about ordering one myself. The price is a bit high, but just that light kit sells for $100 at Home Depot.

I am in the group I don’t do social media but I do have that profile just for the fan groups. Lol. I really had faith in the Panama since it had the 188x20 motor and was there legacy best seller for so long. It’s weird unlike all of hunter/Casablancas other stuff where I’ve heard it’s improved the more I look at reviews it seems the Panamas have gotten worse with time where some of the other stuff has gotten better. I have to show the Paramount XP to my wife if it was bronze I’m sure she’d be cool with it but nickel I’m gonna have to see I always wish to find a paramount xp in antique brass I always also thought it was cool how they did a nickel and white combo. It’s weird I never liked the Edgewood’s they look good in certain installs but fanimations designs never really flowed with me. I’ll have to look more at Craftmade, gulf coast. I know you mentioned on FB the designer being slow I noticed the rpms to be lower then old specs I’ve seen for that model so that’s out. The Emerson Prima is a contender, I just can honestly say I am not putting anything Hunter or Casablanca in this house unless it’s old stock. The one thing I’ll give them is there glass is still very nice 👍

That is true I always used to argue with other collectors like if I wanted $40 for a fan and be like what’s $40 get you at Lowe’s? An armitage most of a harbor breeze classic. The frysts are cool I saw they’re on clearance on build.com my wife I know will hate them as she hates anything that even resembles an Original. Just reaized you mentioned build.com as well lol. My honest opinion Cole but that Panama if you want it premiums and crowns are going dc so to get a nib stack motor fan that you like go for it. I’ll leave my review for core centric in the other thread momentarily.

The Frysts to me are nice looking. I would've preferred the vents to look more like an original but they sort of look like some of the Sears Lasko TOC as far as that goes. I may get one just since they're unique and cheap. I don't expect it to be a powerhouse but they are pretty decent for the price.
I was also going to recommend the Supra but I know you're already getting one for another room.

We discussed the Supra but the hum on low is too loud for me for a bedroom.

The price is a bit high, but just that light kit sells for $100 at Home Depot. Hinkley's Windward is a newer version of an MX Excel; the Regency brand has become Hinkley as of now. These are better fans than they get credit for. The Paramount XP is hands down the best deal here. The build quality of that thing is tank-like as is everything else about it. You can't do better for $99. The Fryst has potential for good performance but Kichler dropped the capacitor values on the fan. Or sourced a large motor with less copper in each winding. They are tempting for $65 but I wish they were 4/5 blade. The XLP Panamas look like a pretty good deal. Especially with the light kit in tow. Those should probably be a consideration for our resident homeowner. Hm...you're in the FB fan group, aren't you? This is the second time I've heard the exact same thing about this new Panama today. The Emerson Prima is a contender, I just can honestly say I am not putting anything Hunter or Casablanca in this house unless it’s old stock. The one thing I’ll give them is there glass is still very nice 👍 That was really strange as far as the bearing noise goes. I've found lots of these direct drive Casablancas that seem to run almost dead silent in practice and according to reviews; I guess these Panamas have gotten worse. At this point, with Hunter taking a sharp turn upmarket and producing ceiling fan designs and quality that are starting to directly compete with the likes of Fanimation, Modern Forms and other industry leaders, the Casablanca line is starting to become irrelevant. No new releases in 2020 is definitely not a good sign, and when Hunter has fans like the Cedar Key (188×20 like the Panama, full function control) that look more trendy than the Panama and cost $200 less....they're struggling with the Casablanca line. It also seems like they could be using the noisier motor units they manufacture in the Panamas now instead of other Hunter/Casa fans because it seems like Hunter is doing these unipack Panamas to clear inventory. Just food for thought based on what's going on. That Nickel/White combo was cool and such a retro spin on a classic fan design. A lot of these fans I'm finding for low prices are out of stock in bronze; the best thing I can think of that's bronze and priced well is the Craftmade American Tradition. They don't have the cool vents like the old pictures show but they do now have cast housings and are built well all round. Craftmade's 188×20s are as fast as Hinkley/Regency's 188×22 but not as powerful as Halsey(Gulf Coast)'s 188×20, which draws 100 watts and outperforms an XLP. Link to a BRONZE American Tradition is here and an updated picture of one can be seen right here .

They have a bronze color for the Hinkley, right? That should work if that's your choice; they have a really cool brushed copper finish that you might find a place for. These are solid fans, like the MX Excels before them (same fan with an updated look). American Tradition is like $15 cheaper than the Hinkley and has more cast parts (motor housing is cast now), and Craftmade's motors are usually fast for their size. I was wrong about the American Tradition's RPM; these seem to go around 170-ish with a 16° blade pitch. Pretty fast for that pitch and 188×20. The Hinkley is probably a little slower judging off of Regency's but the blades are wider. Dixie Belles are great quality fans, and definitely deserve a look.

I just remembered if it could work there are a couple bronze XLP Plus Hollistons on eBay with uplights and Intell-itouch. 60" is probably a little too big for a bedroom though.

So now that the Panama Control is gone looks like were putting the XLP Panama in the bedroom with a bowl light kit UGH! So now I have to pick a fan for my office since the Panama was going in there with a schoolhouse globe.

So now I have to pick a fan for my office since the Panama was going in there with a schoolhouse globe. The fan choice is nice, but the bowl light kit...I agree. Would be cool if a globe could be used instead of a bowl IMO, but I'm sure the install will still look great. Hunter sells globe fitters that will fit the XLP Panama, in case you haven't bought the bowl light. I don't remember what finish you need for the office fan but look at the Craftmade and the Hinkley. I've got a post either here or on the CoreCentric thread all about those. Also you may wanna check FB Marketplace; you might find something good on there.

Update again Panama II is staying in the office. Dixie belle going in master or guest bedroom. Dixie Belle arrived I love it!! Wife wanted it in the master bedroom. Costa Mesa was a beautiful fan however it was too large and the blades of flat would have been ok but with that hint curve it looked horrible so that went back now we’re back to square one for the Kitchen.. stay tuned 🤪

I've said before and will say countless more times that they're great fans. I bet yours is silent too. Halsey build quality; always delivers. I have an idea for something that can fill the Costa Mesa's spot: Same basic tones as the Costa Mesa you guys returned, but more functional and higher quality. You've probably got something else in store but no harm in throwing the idea out there 😄 Same fan, just 44" if 52" is too big:
