~ Pre K-3: (Church preschool) There were 6 brown curved-blade industrials in the sanctuary, 4 over the pews & 2 over the balcony in the back. I was four the last time I was in there so don't remember the brand, but gessing from memory i think they were SMC K56's or Con-Techs. There was an industrial pedestal fan in the basement/lunchroom that everyone called "The Big Fan".
~ Pre K-4 & Kindergarten: (Another Church preschool) I remember seeing a few industrial pedestal fans in a storage closet, but they were never used.
~ Grade 1 (K-5 school): No ceiling fans, but I wonder if there was any prior in the buildins history, singe the oldest part of the school was built in the 20's. My teacher had a Lasko box fan in her room, along with ever other teacher. my dad used to teach in that district and had one.
~ Grade 2-5 (2-5 school)*: There were 2 Envirofan straight blade reversible GoldLines in ProtectoGuards. The middle school in the district had 4 on the old gym, and another school had 4 on long downrods. All of the classrooms in the school had 2 18" Air King wall fans, one in front one in back (the old kind with three blades, if they failed they got replace with the 5 blade newer ones). In addition second grade teacher had 2 SMC 16" pedestal fans. There were no fans in my third grade class because it was a Portable with AC. My fourth grade teacher had a Lasko Cyclone, a Comfort Zone pedestal, a Lasko tower, and some other wood grain 3 metal blade thing. My fifth grade classroom had a Lakewood box fan, an SMC like my second grade teacher, and a Wexford pedestal. My fifth grade teacher did not like it when fan oscillated, so none of them ever did (exept for the Wexford, a student broke it the year before me).
~ Grade 6-8 (middle school): My middle school had five 80's Con-Techs (one was replaced by a Dayton/Leading Edge but still had upper & lower Con-Tech canopies) with cages in the South Gym (original gym of the school built in 1970). There were ten Dayton/Leading Edges in the North Gym (built in the '95/'96 addition of the school). All of the other schools in the K-8 district have fans in there gyms, about 80% Con-Tech & 20% Dayton. A teacher in 6th grade had a Lasko box, the art room had a Lakewood box, and 2 Target brand pedestal fans.
Grades 9-12 (high school): Emerson Stratoejets. 6 in the library, 4 in the gym, 8 in the fieldhouse, 2 above the stairs down the locker rooms, 2 in the hallway between the fieldhouse & gym 2 in one stairwell, 2 in another stairwell, 2 in the theater foyer, 6 36" stratojets in the main hallway's atrium outlooking the courtyard (3 on each side, it's an L-shaped hallway) and 4 Dayton/Leading Edges in the autoshop. There used to be 3 stratojets each in a skylight in the main foyer, but they got removed in 2003 when the foyer got expanded. As for regular fans, my ninth grade math teacher had a Lasko tower in her room, and when cleaning the floors the have Dayton floor fans and a few blowers.
* The law in Illinois says that you have to be 6 in order to be in first grade, but I had Pre K-4 and K in the same year & I was 5. So my dad payed money for me to be at his school that he teached at for my first grade. The district my dad teached at was a K-5, 6-8, 9-12 district, while the district that close to my house was a K-1, 2-5, 6-8, 9-12 district. So for second grade I went to the district I was supposed to go to since there was no law about being 6 in second grade.
