Hi all, New to the forum.
Took apart an old ceiling fan that hasn't worked in many years. Believe it's a 1998 model 23852. Found 98 on the tag.
Was filthy so I took it apart to clean. Found a blown cap inside. Called Hunter for a replacement. Was told they don't replace the capacitor but would replace the fan....If I had the receipt, which we don't. I assume it's a reverse-able 3 speed.
Looked around and don't see these capacitors available. Can someone help with this?
Thanks, Ken
Also, while I have it dis-assembled. Is there a OHM's check I can do from the connector to test the coil windings?

Hunter Original uses 7.5uf capacitor. I can't seem to find 2 wire 7.5uf capacitor, but I found a capacitor that would make a 7.5uf capacitor: www.google.com/shopping/product/165123203618767959373.5 + 4 = 7.5 so just wire black to purple and brown, and gray to white, don't use red wire. If new capacitor won't fit, just place it above motor housing and insert wires through the holes.
