I'm looking for troubleshooting knowledge. I have what I think is a Hampton Bay Bali 52” ceiling fan. Fan was in home when I purchased, I'm basing the model on the attached pic. The fan runs on only one speed no matter which speed (lo, med, hi) is chosen from the remote. This ha]ens from when the fan is off, and when any speed button results in the fan starting/running at the same speed. Based on another fan of same model in the same room, I would say the running speed is ‘hi`. The fan does start with each remote speed choice. The single speed running mode started recently. No changes have been done to fan or wiring. My wild guess would be this could be a bad capacitor but that is only based on reading how a ceiling fan works, not on experience. Can someone provide a more knowledgeable diag? I am trying to locate a manual and part numbers. I have reached out to Hampton Bay support but am told manuals for discontinued models are not available. Any suggestions on where to find one? Google searches have been nonproductive with my limited information. Lastly, I may end up having to find an aftermarket replacement part. My first guess would be an electrical supplier but am open to a better idea. All advice, answers for the multiple questions is appreciated. caperry Attachment Deleted

Hampton bay sells universal receivers for their fans so those will work with this particular model. One thing that you might be losing is the separate up/down light function on your fan with an aftermarket receiver. I might have not searched enough, however I could not find any receivers or remotes that have a separate up/down light function in stores. I believe the remote receiver will be located in the canopy, so it is a pretty easy fix depending on the equipment you have such as a ladder and whatnot. Anyway, good luck on your search!

Thank you Brian. The up/down lighting function is less important if that is lost with a new receiver. Top light isn't used so if the lights end up in sync I can remove the bulb from the top light. I appreciate your searching and response.
