Many moons ago our not very old fan started leaking oil. Someone here was kind enough to provide detailed instructions, now lost, on accessing and replacing a/the o-rings. At the time a potential move came up so the fan was taken down, re-boxed, stored and a replacement was put up to sell the house. Never moved, the old Hunter stayed un-repaired and boxed in the barn loft until last year when it went up in the office of our new home. It doesn't leak so it's likely out of oil. Instruction to the wife is to not use the fan but for a short period and remember to shut it off. I need to fix it before the lack of lubrication damages something.
It is a Hunter Original #203130 five blade purchased from Lowe's the mid-late '90's in an antique type of green color. I recall there was a cautionary warning given (in the years ago instructions) about taking the thing apart correctly to prevent ireparable damage. Could someone fluent in these things please give me the run down on the correct dis-assembly procedure to replace the o-ring(s)? Thanks much!!
