I've found a lot of the portables I had set out to find when I got back into collecting in the late 2000s.
At this point my main ones I'm on the lookout for are:
-Vornado Traditions oscillating desk fan
-Possibly a very early Lasko/Galaxy blue blader with the wide grille openings and the small gray GE plug. I DO have an earlier Sears Lasko/Sanyo with the green blades and it does have the wide grille spacing. But the plastic is yellow, the oscillator is stuck and the printing is gone from the badge and switchplate. It could be fixed up I guess. It's a pretty good runner. I did find one of the early blue Galaxys at a yard sale but like my Sears it just made a loud clicking sound when I turned on the osciilation.
-Any late model Marvin screen fan from the mid 2000s before they stopped making fans.
-12" Hunter seven wing plastic blade oscillating fan. I already have the 16" (but looks 18") bronze with gold blade and OSHA cage model.
-Maybe an early GE brass or steel blader in the pullman green color.
Not something I'm looking for per se, but I would like to get my Westinghouse 6 wing brass cage/brass blade stamped steel fan restored. Not sure if it's worth it though, I think the motor is shot and it need a lot of new parts.
I have a Emerson 27666 12" six brass blade oscillator so I do have a nice working six wing fan anyway.
I've really found most of the fans I really wanted 10 years ago when I started learning about metal fans. Like the 5 wing GE box fans (finally got a 14" last year) the 5 wing GE desk fan, Westinghouse LivelyAire, etc.
If I find something around here that I like I'll get it, but other than the ones above, I think I have most what I want. I have so much stuff now that I really don't have room for more.
