Hello. I have two ceiling fans in my kitchen One is connected to the other. I installed them and they have worked fine for about 10 years. However started making some strange noises and one bulb always flickered for awhile then go out. I put a new bulb in and it did the same thing. Then I was screwing in a new bulb and I heard a loud pop and now both fans do not work. The one fan that shorted out is closest to the switch, so I am assuming that the other is still good. I took out the ceiling plate cover of the one the shorted out and there was nothing that looked out of the ordinary (no burnt wires or disconectd wires). My question is, does the one fan that is the farther from the switch work/depend on the one that is cloesst to the switch? If I were to replace the shorted out fan would this fix things and get the other fan to work?
